    getting started in electrical

    i'm tossing around the idea of leaving software dev and cubicles behind.     pre-bottling taste test.... terrible

    i can't describe it but my latest batch is terrible.. well the pre-bottle hyrdo test sample is terrible anyway :( normally, when i try a hydro sample i can see the potential goodness... not this time... this was a "some stuff i have left over" recipe so i didnt expect greatness but... damn...

    US-05 fermenting too low?

    I just noticed last night that for the last week i've had a batch fermenting with us-05 in the high 50's low 60's. I think it might have gotten below 55 on a couple occasions. will the low temps have an adverse effect on this yeast? I know, RDWHAHB, but I had to ask.

    I like the idea of those little champagne bottles but I'm having a hard time finding anything but clear.     My yard is full of potential blackberries!

    Thanks to my complete lack of landscaping there are a couple acres here that are covered in briars and little white flowers that will be turning into blackberries soon. SO... what beer should I put them in? So far I'm thinking about a hefe and an american wheat... any other ideas or recipes?

    Rubber stopper smell

    I made a small batch of cider in a 1 gallon glass jug, stuck a rubber stopper on top with an airlock and let it go for about a month. I bottled it on 2/14 and when I opened one last night and poured a glass it smelled strongly of that rubber stopper. wtf? :confused:

    effects of backsweetening with lactose
