    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

Sweet, glad I could help. I don’t use clarifying agents, extra step, that in my opinion isn’t needed. Yes I agree with the lid dipping into the wort. I don’t worry too much about it, just make sure it’s sanatized.

    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

Best tip, and you have to clean it anyway. Open and seal it a few times, with or without pressure get feel how it closes up.

    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

I just followed the directions and all went well. Pretty basic. Just be mindful of the gasket when sealing it up so it doesnt drop in. If you have co2 with a gauge, I'd throw say 20 lbs in it and check sounding valve for accuracy. And with the pressure release valve on the lid. I put 20lbs then...

    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

Oh...the gasket for lid can kinda be a PITA as I dropped it in the fermenter full of wort and had to fish it out. It doesnt sit well like the normal corny, but if you are aware as I am now, it'll be fine.

    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

Went out on a limb and bought one. Used it twice, does what it says. I used it in my mini fridge conversion for temp control, I've brewed 2 lagers using this fermenter. Get about 2.5 of drinkable beer after everything settles out. Cold crashed and I poured the yeast it into a sanitized Mason jar...

BrewKeg 50, Rolling Stand, Dosing Device

Didn’t like it? I just ordered a brewkeg.

    BrewKeg10 WilliamsWarn

Anyone use one of these? Haven't really found squat for info/reviews. Saw more beer had a special pricing which I missed but haven't found much. Like's dislikes? I'd intend to use in my all grain brewing vs williamswarn extract kits. Thanks.

How do you get an accurate SG reading active fermentation?

If you are using a hydrometer, just drop it in your test vessel. That is as accurate as you get. When using a refractometer there is some math involved because it wont accurately calculate when alcohol is present, its measuring fermented sugar.

Adding Lactic Acid directly to achieve a sour effect?

I just asked the same thing https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f127/lactic-acid-504165/

    Lactic Acid

Anyone know if there is a potential to infect your brew house when using 88% Lactic Acid? Link below. Does it contain enough Lactobacillus to become a contaminate? Thinking about putting in a semi "gose" to add additianal sourness but its going to be served in friends brew pub. Not sure how he'd...

    Dead Yeast

If its fermenting along I wouldn't touch it, but if no sign of fermentation, you can repitch.

    Amherst Third Annual Homebrew Competition!

As last years winner, this was a great competition. Not only because I won, but I had the opportunity to brew in a professional brewery and see my 5 gallon batch scaled up a 7 barrel batch. Was a great time with the brewers. Fun to see my beer enjoyed by many at the brewery too.

So much for keeping the freezer clean

Clean tap water will work, there so much positive pressure nothing it going to go back up the tube, the water wont foam up, not until the blow off fills it anyway.
