    Texas Electric 3 Keggle HERMS

$500 I've decided to sell my brewing equipment. I was in the process of building an electric brewery and got busy with life. Now it's time to pass it to someone else. You will have almost everything you need to start brewing. I was only missing a few fittings and some electrical parts for the...

    Electric Barbecue Pit

I don't know if this is the appropriate place for this or not, so I apologize if it isn't. I'm in the process of building my electric brewery. I also like to barbecue. I've been thinking about putting a heating element in the fire box on my smoker and controlling it with my brewery control...

    Scored some Greenlee punches

I just want to brag a little. I know ya'll will appreciate this. I went to Canton (giant flea market) with my wife and in-laws yesterday. While my wife and mother in-law looked at furniture and girly stuff, my father in-law and I looked at tools and other cool stuff. I told him to keep an...

    Can I use this wire?

My brewery is in the garage, and my main panel is about 50' away on the back of the house. The brewery will have two 5500 watt elements (1 element running at a time) and 2 pumps. I have a 50 amp spa panel that I will be using. I'd like to get all 50 amps to the garage, but cost is a big issue...

    Should I buy these valves?

I found THESE stainless valves on ebay. I need 5 valves and this looks like a great price. Should I go with them? http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-x-1-2-304-Stainless-Steel-Ball-Valves-WOG1000-/350477522353

What guage wire from main panel to spa panel?

So I've been collecting parts for my e-brewery for a few months now and I'm getting pretty close to the prize. I'm doing a build very similar to jsguitar's, with two 5500 watt elements. I will have a switch to select which element is hot, so only one element will be on at a time plus a March...

How do I clean copper HERMS coil?

So I got some free copper tubing from my father in-law. I think it will make a nice HERMS coil. I coiled it around a cornie keg and it fits nicely in my HLT. It has been sitting outside for like 20 years so it's really dirty. Is there anything I can soak it in to make it shine? Thanks

What Keywords do You Use When Searching Craigslist?

I search craigslist about every day, and I use "keg" "beer" and "brew". What do ya'll use?

    My Cigar Box Stir Plate

I know stir plates have been done before, but I'd like to share my DIY stir plate with ya'll. I have learned a lot from this site, and I hope this helps someone out. I had a lot of fun building it because I like to tinker with things. First thing I got was a free cigar box from the liquor...

    Would an 11"X8.5"X4.25" box work?

I plan to put one PID, maybe a timer, and a few switches in it. It will be a lot like jsguitar's build. I found someone on Craigslist with boxes that size for a good price. I'm worried about the 4 1/4" depth. Will that be deep enough? Thanks

Dallas Craigslist 12 Tap Draft Tower

Found this on Dallas Craigslist. It's not my listing. It would work well with my kegerator, but I don't need 12 taps. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/app/2478643162.html

    Pelican Case Control Panel

I've been thinking about how I'm going to build my control panel. When I built my stand, I built it so that I could roll it under my work bench. I've been thinking about getting one of those electrical enclosures and mounting it directly to the side of my stand. I don't really like that idea...

    Commercial Kegerator Restoration Project

So I found a True TDD-3 commercial kegerator on Craigslist today. It was only $200, so I couldn't pass it up. I got it home and plugged it in to see if it worked. It came on and made a buzzing sound but it seemed to be working. I started looking at the wiring and found that some of the wires...

Scored this kegerator on Craigslist! Now What?

So i was looking at Craigslist, and this kegerator came up and it was really cheap! It was so cheap that I couldn't let it go. I called the guy and it was still available so I went and picked it up. It's old and dirty but it still works. I'm not sure how well it works because I just got home...

    10 Gallon Cooler Sparge Lid

Has anyone ever used the lid on a 10 gallon cooler for sparging? I noticed that the lid is hollow. All you would have to do is get water in the lid from the top and out through a bunch of holes on the bottom. My only problem would be attaching an inlet to the top without going through the whole...

    Fly Sparge Idea

I've come up with an idea for fly sparging and I would like some input before I actually try it. I got the idea from my background in the aquarium hobby. I have a 10 gallon rubbermaid mash tun and I have been batch sparging until now. Heres what I've come up with. Water going in goes straight...

    Oven Mashing

I want to move up to all grain soon. One thing I've been thinking about is mashing in the oven. I have a really nice oven that will hold the correct temperatures, and is calibrated. The inner dimensions are 22x17x13(ish), which is about the size of 21 gallons of water. I figure it will easily...

    Filtering Beer

So I'm on my third batch of beer and having a great time with my new hobby. An old hobby of mine was aquariums. So the aquarist in me wants to filter the beer. It seems like many of the commercial beers I drink have been filtered. The batch that I am working on now is a berry wheat. It's in...
