    Garden hose flavors

    So I screwed up and used the hose to fill the mash tun while brewing. Now the batch tastes horrible. (Tasty Brown Ale from morebeer) It has a huge plastic type/vinyl flavor that I first thought was due to chlorine, but later discovered was coming from the hose. Any ideas on how to salvage it?

    Diacetyl with pilsner malt??

    I have recently brewed several all, or almost all, pilsner malt beers in different styles and with different yeasts.     Anyone know what beers come with a riddle under the cap. I picked up a cap a few days ago to throw away and it has a riddle on the bottom side. I think there is a claw on the top of the cap.     Any concerns with long term bottle conditioning?

    I plan to put a barley wine in bottles in a few months and will likely want to age it in bottles for a few years after carbonating in the bottle. Should I be worried about any long term effects of the yeast in the bottle? I would like to put a few 6 packs back for a few years.
