    First Timer Question

    I have been brewing beer for about 15 years and I have a set up now to distill. Can I do a mash the way I do a beer, ferment and siphon to the still pot and go from there? Or do I ferment with all of the grains right in the carboy?

    I'm not sure why my OG is all the way up to 1.122. I used 2 5g packs of K1 V1116. I don't really care for sweet meads or wines. Will this ferment down far enough to get it on the dryer side?

    Orange Blossoms In Mead

    My second mead is an Orange blossom honey mead which I made last weekend. When I rack to secondary, the orange blossoms will be in full bloom here in AZ. Has anyone actually racked a mead onto orange blossoms for the ultimate orange flower mead?

    High FG imperial sweet stout

    Today i racked my imperial sweet stout to secondary.After 1 month in primary, the FG reading is 1.040, this seems way high to me. Anybody ever have that FG with Imperial stout?( 1 lb of milk sugar during boil) I plan on leaving it in secondary for a month and bottle for a month.

    Bottle bombs?

    I brewed an oatmeal stout with an OG of 1.056,and bottled today after 2 weeks,stupidly enough, I took my FG, after I bottled (I know, I should have done it before hand, I said it was stupid). Anyways, the FG was 1.020. Am I going to get gushers, or worse, bottle bombs?

    zinc plated washer

    I could not find a clear answer to this. I used a zink plated washer on the inside of my mashing tun,should I throw out my beer for health reasons, or is it okay to drink it?

    Secondary air lock action

    I racked a bock to secondary last saturday,and i'm still getting a little action from the air lock.The FG was right on the money before I racked it.Is this normal?I also started using star san with this batch,does that make a difference?

    Temp question

    I have a wit bottled in my temp controled fridge at 60F.The strawberry wheat recipe says to ferment at 70F.Can I turn the temp up to 70F without screwing up my wit? (used nottingham for yeast)
