    Bottle Bomb/ Safety question

If you have never witnessed a bottle bomb explosion let me tell you the force is impressive. While holding a bottle from a suspect batch in my hand it exploded with unbelievable force. Shrapnel was thrown for over 25’. There are multiple cuts and contusions all over the body. None were serious...

    Beverage Factory

There was a thread about 3 weeks ago about a sale at the Beverage Factory. If you search "beverage Factory" there were several threads from 2009 complaining about this being a substandard vendor. There were two who purchased recently with no complaints. Beverage Factory is also the offical...

    Birmingham, AL

I used to travel from strange city to strange city doing field work. This meant eventually I would visit severaa hot spots. You rapidly learn if your residence and office is in a safe area. I would get a city/county map and pull over a cop and tell him I was new in town and would he circle the...

    Wort Chiller, what to buy?

Does it really matter????? Alot of space on this forum is dedicated to chiller design. Does it really matter if my 3/8" x 35' ribcage can cool 5 gallon to 100*df using 80*df water with an air temperature of 99*df in 9 minutes and a different design does it in eight? Can you taste the...

    Sanitizing with B-Brite

A response to a web search on B brite produced a article that it costs $xxx per State to get a "sanitizer" certiicate and B Brite wasnt going to spend that much of thier profit. Do a web search on it. Also a sanitizer has to kill XX% in XX seconds and B Brite kills a little less in a few more...

    Corn Sugar

I assume that corn sugar will last for years if you put it in a ziplock bag and keep it dry.

    First Wheat

One person using WPL 320 said it took 20 to 25 days to ferment out, Another using WPL 300 had the same results. Thanks for the link.

    First Wheat

Brewed my first wheat with WPL 320 brewed between 66 and 70 DF. THe web states WPL 320 likes 67 df and above. 11 Days later it is gassing off twice a minute. Have not checked the FG. Patience is a virtue. I am not trying to set any speed records. My ales sit in the primary for 3.5 to 4 weeks...

I picked up a used fridge for lagering, a moment of your time, plz.

Has nothing to do with gases. Metal shavings in the compressor are stirred up when you move a refrigerator. You need to allow time for them to settle to the bottom.

    Geothermal cooling

I was looking for an energy neutral way to control ale fermenting temperatures and they moved me to the "chit chat" section. A man made cave or root cellar is what I was talking about. Something that prevented having to transport ice every day or buying a refrigerator. Beersydoesit, tell...
