    Oaked Bourbon..

So I made a Bourbon Barrel porter a while back, I put some oak chips in bourbon to soak and never got around to adding them to the secondary. Is there any issue to dumping the Bourbon and oak in the secondary even though the chips have been "Soaking" for about a month?

    Levels of settlement

That's what I thought, it just seemed odd that it was so defined in separate levels.

    Levels of settlement

I don't usually rack to a secondary, but I have recently moved a porter to a secondary and now it looks like it has separated into different levels of clarity? If that makes any sense every few inches there is a change in color? Should I be worried?

    bourbon barrel disaster...

Well if it tastes half as good as it did when I was putting it in the keg I don't think drinking it quickly will be an issue!

    Snow globe to opaque...

So I made a harpoon IPA clone (supposed to be anyways). I had problems from the beginning, all dumb mistakes on my part. 1 added double the amount called for, when adding first hops, 2 never got the wort below 80 degrees. Sat for 2 weeks and bottled, now it looks like a snow globe after you...

I found this homemade stainless steel fermenter on craigslist for 250 , I have been looking at the plastic conical ones and getting ready to spend about the same. Should I get the homemade stainless steel or a brand name plastic fermenter??

    Pilsner questions

I didn't do a starter but plan on making one for my next lager attempt! Is there a recommended time for the secondary to condition in the cold? I need to add the dry hops but I'm thinking I will wait a week or so and then add them and let sit for a week?

    Pilsner questions

I have put the secondary in the garage where it is around 40 and may go lower, read up a little after the fact and I have seen that it is recommended to lower the temperature in stages. Lets just say i didn't do the stages part what kind of problems will I run into?
