    suspended krausen

    my friend has a mr beer keg with his last batch of red ale its been fermenting for 17 days. It has what looks like krausen but might be something else, we tried it, it didnt taste bad. Can it be bottled ? will the funk settle? does any one have any advice? he's about to start 5 gallon batches>

    airlock not bubbling its been 2 days

    Its in a bucket, I have 2, 6.5 gal buckets 1, 6 gal carboy and 1, 5gal secondary. They sit on a shelf in my furnace room, it stays a constant 68-70 degrees.I also bottle condition in there.

    I have an american wheat from northernbrewer, It hasent done anything its been since sat.This is only my 6th batch but all the others have started in 24 hours or less. The yeast in this kit I havent used before it was safale k-97dry. Should I open it up to see whats up? Help...

    should I have used a blow off tube?

    I just put my 4th batch in a new glass 6 gal carboy, its a bavarian hefe extract from northern brewer I used a stopper and reg airlock. Should I put a blow off tube on it?

    I did a hefe my 1st batch, fermented 7 days, there was alot of sediment in bottle that was chunky. I think I will wait a little longer On the next one!

    wort aeration

    Thanks, Yea I've got my second batch in primary fermenter 1st batch in bottles. I stirred both, the airlock started bubbling within 24 hours and stopped completely within 3 days. Then on the 7th day I bottle, no secondary, but I'm doing a hefe so I want it cloudy!

    Thanks for the info! Also I ferment for 7 days my o.g is right on, and I dont secondary ferment, straight to the bottle. Is that right? got any other tips or exract recipes of any hefe's? For a newby of course! Thanks!

    2nd batch

    I got 1 batch of weizenbier in bottles that are 1 week into carb, and 1 batch in the fermenter. it says wait 21 days on top of the 2 week carb period. do i have to? Also can i squeeze some lemon in my bottling bucket right before i bottle it?
