    Step Mashing with 2200W RIMS?

Is it possible to efficiently do a step mash with a 2200W RIMS setup? This question has more to do with what kind of controller I should get/build. If efficient step mashing is possible, I would probably go ahead with a controller capable of handling 20 amps. Otherwise, I might just go with...

    Dank Resiny Hops

I've been getting my Medusa hops from Yakima Valley Hops. They released the 2018 crop not too long ago so if you search their site, should be easy to find. Not sure who else carries it. This year's crop came in at about 4.8% AA so like I said, not exactly high alpha acid if you are looking to...

What type of infection am I dealing with?

What type of infection it is, is hard to diagnose by looking at it, but good rule of thumb I've learned is if it doesn't get fuzzy and black or blue, you might have dodge the mold bullet. Either drink it fast and soon, or let it ride and see what you get. Iodaphor or a bleach solution (1 tbl/...

What brand BIAB bag do you use?

Been using and reusing the Brew Bag to do MIAB without almost no problem (see below) for a while now. The only time I've had a stuck lautur/sparge was because of pumpkin as well... and I've done a 40/60 rye malt/wheat malt with it.

    Dank Resiny Hops

It's not a high alpha acid hop, but I've always found Medusa to be pretty dank. Since I first tried it a few years ago, it's been my goto dank hop to balance the fruity ones.

    Brewing with 120V(20A & 15A) Questions

Yes, I've been taking a second look at them and was going to dive into some of the posts on here about those units when I get the chance. My push to go electric is to avoid another Wisconsin winter brewing in my garage with the doors open for cross ventilation. My garage is heated (if the...

    Brewing with 120V(20A & 15A) Questions

I currently MIAB so I'm partway there. I'm hoping to be able to do recirculating and step mashes, so that's where the initial idea of a RIMS came in. Between not having access to 240V and now hearing that a 1600W element might have a hard time with step mashes, I'm generally reevaluating what...

Where to get Custom Control Panel Plaque?

Check out Electric Brewing Supply: https://ebrewsupply.com/collections/engraving I'm pretty sure that is where Spike also gets their control panels from.

    Brewing with 120V(20A & 15A) Questions

I've been planning to make the jump to electric brewing for a while now and was about to take the final plunge until I got thrown for a big loop recently. I was informed by an electrician that running a new 30A/240V GFCI line would be prohibitively expensive for me to justify (mainly due to...
