    Just bottled my first wines!

I did a bunch of 1 gallon experimental wine and mead batches this fall. Just bottled it all up and am pretty excited. Mango wine- this stuff is HOT. Fermented out really low with a ton of sugar. This stuff is probably 15%. Good mango flavor.Should be ok chilled up in the heat of summer. I...

    Metal toolbox for march pump?

Would there be any problem with using a metal toolbox to mount my pump? Specifically in relation to the fact the pump is magnetic. I didn't even think about it until I went to measure and the pump head stuck to the side of the box. Thanks!

    Freezing, bottling already carbed eisbock

I have about a quarter keg of bock that I was hoping to freeze concentrate and bottle for an eisbock. My concerns are that it's already carbonated and I'm not sure what will happen to the carb levels once I freeze the beer? I'm also worried about where the water will freeze because I...

    Dry hops for oaked two-hearted?

I've already dry hopped once with centennial, but you really can't taste them anymore. I was thinking of maybe a little more complexity? I have every hop you can name. I was thinking maybe some citra or something piney. What say you all?

    Do these hops look ready?

First year container Zeus. Just like Yooper, these REALLY dried out in the last week or so. Definitely papery. I'm thinking harvest any day now? The only concern was how fast they changed. Thanks!

    Turn APA into Barleywine?

I have the grains crushed for Jamil's American Pale without caramel. I have too many Pale ales on tap or conditioning right now and am thinking I want to age something for later this winter. Basically I have .75 lbs munich, .75lbs Victory, .50lbs wheat, and 11.5 lbs of 2-row. I want to turn...

    More bulk hop advice please

Getting 1# each of... Hersbrucker Magnum Willamette ...and was thinking cascade and centennial. I make Lagers and will be making APA's and IPA's as well. I was thinking of trading in centennial for amarillo. This way I could sub cascades for centennial and have another hop on hand...

    Roasted Malt?

I used what my LHBS had labeled as "Roasted Malt"? Could this be Black Patent instead of Roasted Barley? I did a search and I'm thinking that's what it is. Anybody ever seen either labeled Roasted Malt? I do remember we talked about how it almost turned to dust and was not really husked...

    California Common Rest?

Oh, to warm my beer up with a little D-rest or not? That is the question of the day. Fermented at 62. Just took a gravity reading and I'm about 6 points from FG. Didn't really taste any butter. Maybe.....maybe just a trace of oiliness, but probably not. I've been warming all my beers up to...

    My current ferment schedule ?'s

I have been moving my beers upstairs right after the krausen drops on the last few batches with varying results. First with a Hef, that tasted good for a while, but has since become just ok. Next with a porter that really hit a sweet spot and was very good for a couple of weeks, but has tailed...

SQ-14 took an hour to boil 10 gal.?

We tried to put the passive oxide layer on our new keggle. No go. We will be doing 5 gal batches, but it took an hour to boil 10 gal. Boiled for a half hour. It was cold out....and no windscreen.....will improving in these areas help us? Seemed like we burned quite a bit of propane, but not...

    SQ-14 hose into burner?

How far do you screw the hose into the burner? I would say mine is in there about 1/4 of the way down the screw. Turned it about 3 times with a wrench and it's tight. Just seems like it should go further?

    Keggle weldless fitting help

This is completely ridiculous. Building a keggle. I bought the weldless fitting from weldlessfittings.com. We were very careful. Our hole is perfect. Right at 13/16th's. Worked on it all afternoon. Leaks! Needless to say I've been pissed. I said 10 times, "should have just had it...

    Christmas equipment question

So, I was thinking of getting the parts and making a mini-fridge kegerator for christmas. I already have a keezer, but it doubles as a fermentation and a kegger, which really limits my brewing. I currently brew stove top with deathbrewers pm and small batch ag process. Basically brewing with the...
