    mill gap issues

This sounds like a roller issue rather than a torque issue. Look at the knurls on each roller. If they are flat instead of pointed, there's your issue. I had your exact problem till I bought a new mill. Now I can rip through 13 lbs of grain in less than 3 minutes with a 3/8 drive cordless drill...

    Brewer's Best Kettle

The markings are still like new. When I got it, I scrubbed it up with Barkeepers friend and at the end of a brewday I clean with a scrub pad thats made for stainless steel and a gallon of warm water in the pot with a couple glugs of CLR.

    Brewer's Best Kettle

The 10 gal. brewbuilt kettle that I got 5 years ago is holding up great. I like that the notched lid lets you cover the kettle with the immersion chiller in it. A sanitized rag over the opening prevents anything from getting in there during cooling. You just have to make sure the threads are dry...

Mash in a bag in a cooler

I do bag in a cooler also. I just got a wilser bag a couple brews ago and couldn't be any happier. My wort is very clean coming out of the cooler with a 1 gal. vorlauf and the grain practically jumps off the bag when I go to rinse it off. Much, much better than any bag I've used before. You just...

    Hop ID help

I don't know if you can identify hops by appearance. Someone else might be able to, but I can't. But, you should be able get in the ballpark by the smell.

PB2 Powder in Choc Milk Stout

Yea, the beer isn't my cup of tea, but it didn't turn out too bad considering it was my first stab at it. My wife told me to put it in the book and not to change anything.

PB2 Powder in Choc Milk Stout

Its Brewers Best Natural Peanut Butter flavoring extract from homebrew supply. Its funny, on the website they say its natural yet on the bottle it says artificial.

PB2 Powder in Choc Milk Stout

I just tapped a keg of peanut butter cup stout for my wife. After 2 weeks in the primary I added 4 oz. of peanut butter extract to the fermenter, along with 8 oz. of cocoa nibs that had soaked in a few oz. of vodka for 5 days. I let that sit another 2 weeks, kegged and than it sat in the keg 3...

    Too dark and too burnt

Instead of tossing it, you could try blending it with something lighter. I like to blend stouts with pale ales to get hoppy browns. It is easier to do if you keg though.

    Cleaning the Grain Mill

I'm also a banger. I'm more concerned with grinding my base malt last so there isn't any dark malt dust going into a lighter beer.

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

Yea, it looks like it splits in half. I was thinkin the ball might pop out after you got it apart and than the seals could have a grooves they fit into. I have a valve that does that on my BK. Two teflon seals on both sides of the ball that go into grooves. Than when you tighten the two haves...

    New Anvil Bucket Fermentors

The valves can't be broken down into individual pieces? So if the seal slips, you can't just break it down and align everything back up.
