Join our local club the Grand River Area Brewers (aka GRAB). https://www.homebrewtalk.com/groups/grab-grand-river-area-brewers/ We happen to be having a meeting tonight. PS If you search through the group posts you'll find a thread about where to find stuff locally.

    Corny Kegs, in Toronto?

You could try asking on the MOB (Members Of Barleyment) mailing list. A Google search should find the list for you. Paul

    Electric Mashtun Leaks...

In the design you reference he uses RTV to solve this problem. I think it would have been better to use a second O-ring (or washer) to form the seal between the element and the electrical box. If you do this, make sure you Ground Bond the box to the keg in some other way (i.e. a ground wire)...

Belgian Tripel "too clean" where to start improving?

Bump for the pitch at 65 and let rise to mid-high 70's. I pitch at 65 and ferment in a small fridge that I set them temperature control to 80 on. It typically will raise on its own to 77 or 78 at peak krausen. Temp control just makes sure it never goes above 80. Would never ferment in a room...

Really Hops Direct? - shipping comment...

Break points on shipping are 5lb and 10lb in my experience with pellets. Leaf are much bigger and are more costly. No 4lb limit on personal use. Get as much as you want. Paul

    Barrel Stave Repair

Got a 120L barrel off craigslist a few weeks ago. Filled with water and when the staves swelled it became clear that two were severely cracked and causing a couple of significant leaks in the middle of the barrel. I'm no cooper, but have a lot of woodworking skills and tools. Barrel is french...

    Threads on 50L Euro Keg

I am hoping to find a fitting to adapt the standard tap connector on a 50L Euro keg to those used on an electric water heater element. Any ides what size the threads are or where to find such a fitting? Thanks, Paul

The complete cleaning regimen of a brutus system

Exactly! Unless you are going to sanitize or autoclave your grain prior to mashing, anything else done preboil is unnecessary. The malted grain is full of stuff you don't want living in your beer. Boiling is the step that takes care of it.

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Thanks for the article. I see your point. It does seem that other brewing software is handling perhaps incorrectly. For example Beer Smith would give higher IBU's for First Wort than Full Boil, while the article you refer to suggests that they should only be higher than a late addition...

looking for help, molson golden ale clone

Galena, but it's so lightly hopped that you use any noble hop. Better add some corn to your grain bill as well.

    If I only had 27K

bbl (US) = 31.5 gallons or 119 liters. The Sanke Keg used by many for kettles is 1/2 bbl. 7 bbl (98 cases of 12 oz bottles) is a common small brew length.

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I'm getting the wrong IBU's because the amount of time the first wort hops are in the boil is not included in the calculation. Should be 20 minutes plus time in boil which is 60 minutes for a total of 80 minutes. I can get around the problem by not using the first wort option and just adding...
