beer concentrate in a plastic tube

I've seen an article about the beer concentrate from Foxboro Brewing Company, Foxboro Mass, and their 4 flavors of contentrate in a rigid plastic stick pack. It is 50 mL, you snap it open and pour into a 10 oz sparkling water. They have an American lager, american pale ale, Amber ale, and a...

    Airlock activity

On a larger 5-gallon carboy or bucket, you will be able to generate enough CO2 for a bubble a lot quicker than a small 1 gallon jar. Both batches could be generating CO2 at the same rate per gallon, but a larger container would generate a single bubble faster than a smaller container so it...

    'Middle' Boil Times For Hops?

I buy the cheaper hops with the high IBUs for my bittering, and then spend the money on the particular aroma and flavor hops used during that last 15 minutes and whirlpool period. Why spend twice as much money on hops that you add at the 40 minute interval for bittering, when you can add a...

Anheuser-Busch InBev Acquires Northern Brewer & Midwest Supplies

so I think that AB_InBev only plans to mix the hops pellets 50/50 with hay and straw, for that distinctive taste they like. So we will need to adjust our recipes accordingly.

"TheHairyHop on October 15th, 2016 - 6:51pm This article states that AB InBev owns Coors. It does not. Coors is a part of MolsonCoors" Miller/Coors has merged with AB INBev.

    How bout them Spartans?

With games against UM, OSU and Penn St, i think a .500 year would be a stretch. The O-line and D-line are porous and too many injuries each week, what a mess.

    How bout them Spartans?

The Spartans have too much talent to be a total disaster. They may indeed lose another couple games, but still have a decent year, go to a bowl game, and hopefully have their QB situation settled and figure out both their D-line and O-Line. Lots of games yet to be played. I'm thinking UM will...

    How bout them Spartans?

Forbes is a hard worker, that is great news for him. Good to see him get a foot in the door, I hope it works out. As far as the current team, this new incoming class of top recruits, not to mention the experience from Ben Carter, should be an exciting season to watch. The 2017 class will...

    How bout them Spartans?

Ouch. Wisconsin is very good, no doubt, but Sparty shot themselves in the foot several times and did not play well at all. O'Connor did not see all his receivers, threw into coverage instead of the open man. A couple dump penalties. Turnovers/interceptions were avoidable. A lot to work on.

    Minneapolis Beer and Breweries

Surly is very good, much bigger than I thought, and pretty good food, too. Dangerous Man is pretty good, like a corner neighborhood pub, if I lived in Minny it would be my hangout. There is another brewery in Minnesota that I sampled recently, LiftBridge, that is east of the twin cities near the...

    Wisconsin Western Wisconsin Brewery/Brewpub Recommendations?

If you can make it across the Iowa border, go to Toppling Goliath and Pulpit rock, they are both in Decorah. Toppling Goliath has outstanding reviews on most of the beer rating websites and apps.

Illinois Anything going on in Chicago next weekend?

BTW, once you get closer to the city, there are a ton of microbreweries. Revolution I hear has great food, Lagunitas is unusual and a fun tour, and Goose Island has their "experimental tap room" with some good stuff.

Illinois Anything going on in Chicago next weekend?

There is plenty of stuff to do every weekend. I know there is a German Fest, and a Mexico-fest. There is a Wine-tasting thing downtown. Sox are hosting the KC Royals. If you do a google on Chicago Events Calendar, you will get several options...some of those sites concentrate on theatre, some...

    first year plant questions

The two new ones were plants, about 8 inches tall with a nifty little plastic trellis. The ground I put them in is relatively moist, it is towards the bottom of the sloping area of my yard that is the last area to fully dry out, although the top 4-8 inches dry out relatively quickly. I added...

    first year plant questions

Thanks for the fast replies. I meant to emphasize that I never got any buds, flowers, and sign of the prickly looking spikes that come before the cones start to form. Even if they didn't have enough energy to produce viable cones, I understand that isn't going the first year. But I saw...

    first year plant questions

I found a nursery that sells a lot of unusual plants and I bought a Cascade from them last year. It grew well, I got cones the first year, and triple that amount this year. I bought 2 more this spring, got them into the ground in a different area of the yard with a lot of sun. They have only...
