    Question about cleaning bottles

I just got done cleaning bottles with baking soda. I let them soak overnight. Noticed they dried with some residue. Looked up how to clean it. Google came back with white vinegar. But i'm going to just bottle and see how it all pans out. I've rinsed each bottle 3 times. So i'm hoping the minimal...

http://byo.com/hops/item/930-is-removing-hops-and-trub-from-your-fermenter-necessary So to start out I've already done some poking around for info. This was one of the best explanations I found for my dilemma. Yesterday I was brewing up a Belgian ale. Second attempt to make this higher alcohol...

    Possible experiment...

Yeah people do use the term with different meaning. I was using it in the more literal sense, where I would have another stage of fermentation. Definitely adding in more fermentables to feed the new yeast.

    Possible experiment...

Okay so I definitely did not communicate well enough....might have been a little drunk too. This would be the process: Initially pitch just ale yeast. Ferment at ale temps. As normal. When I go to switch to the secondary, take record and cool down to lager temps. Do what I need to make it...

    Possible experiment...

You are right. But I would add in the yeast at the exact same time. Then to fix the problem of not having enough yeast to do the work in the secondary I would increase the amount of yeast/sugar. I've heard of people adding things in when they switch to the secondary, i.e. yeast/sugar.

    Possible experiment...

so i was just sitting here pondering over my next batch. i'm fairly new to brewing and haven't ventured in to experiments yet. but i am very curious about this... So i'm wondering what it would be like/what would be the results of brewing a beer in two fermentations and with two different...

    advice please... I messed up.

So I'm not sure this is recommended... But if it stupid and it works, then it's not stupid. Right? I can't explain how I came up with this, I might have seen someone else do it. But I sat down and put my carboy in my lap and gave it a good swirl to get everything moving. I went to no activity...

    advice please... I messed up.

First off I'm very new to brewing...but that's not my point. I made a very stupid decision. So I'm working on my second brew, a strong belgian ale. Everything is going great. Only until I have to put my yeast in. I never used Wyeast before. I got excited and just opened the pack with out...
