Dwarf Brew 2010: Authentic Fantasy Beer Contest! $1000 Prize!

Both good points. We're trying not to limit the styles to specific races. Just like you can have a German ale or lager, you will be able to do the same for dwarven beers. I'm sure one of the next dwarven clans will boast a mighty lager ;) We've got a lot of ideas kicking around!

Where do you get your ingredients from? I found http://www.gruithouse.com/ but they are "due to be back in November 09" I've been itching to play around with this stuff.

    Pumpkin preparation for pumpkin ale

I ran two batches this year. first batch I uses .5 tsp of spices like most recipes call for and couldn't taste the spice. I have a feeling the problem came from adding the spice with 5 mins left in boil they say spices are volitile and loose flavor after boiling. Second batch I did with twice...

    Pumpkin preparation for pumpkin ale

Just did a pumpkin ale last week. Recipe called for 8 - 10 lb. I got a regular large pumpkin that weighted 10 lb, gutted it and wound up with 8 lb left for the mash (per recipe). Chopped it into 3 - 6" pieces, placed in a cake pan with an inch of water and baked @ 350 for 1 1/2 - 2 hours till it...

New to forums, looking for Fantasy Enthusiasts to try something different

Thanks for the Welcome Joker! I agree, the majority will certainly be quality drinkable beers. I was thinking about this Ogre beer today... I don't see an Ogre farming grain, but I could certainly see one raiding a farm and stealing their crops (and maybe a baby or two). Hops would...

Well, a lot of the "authenticity" will be created through the story line and art work. I would expect a Dwarf to make a stout, and maybe even a beer that tasted like an IPA. We're expecting a full line of "normal" beers, but we're also excited to see what off the wall stuff we can come up with...

Hey whats up everyone... My name's Chris (aka PlayinitCool) from Fantasy Brewmasters. I'll probably be hanging around the forums quite a bit coming up as we start working on a new recipe, so I thought I would introduce myself, and explain what we're working on. The project is called Fantasy...

    Initiation / Hazing

Hay there... just wondering if I had to go through some kind of initiation or hazing before I was allowed to post a topic. :drunk: I posted in the Introduction forum this afternoon, but I got a quick message about being moderated first. I didn't get time to read the whole thing, so I'm not...
