    Low OG - Porter Extract

    Ok. I was pretty low on my OG reading after brewing a Porter. Recipe called for OG of 1.061. I a got a 1.046. I had about 3 gallons and added 2+ gallons of bottled water and stirred well. I am not sure why I would be so far off. Temp was 66 degrees F when took the reading. Everything else...

    Hey Guys, I messed up my steeping temperature and didn't realize until after the boil. I brewed an IPA from an extract kit, asking to steep grains for 30min at 150 - 160F. I was busy drinking a home brew :drunk: and wasn't paying attention well enough and ending up steeping for 30 minutes...

    Just started HB a couple months ago. Brewing a Nut Brown Ale and enjoying my first one...a Amer. Mico Pale Ale. So far so good. I love the first one and can't wait for my next and next and next.....
