    Magnum

Magnum is a bittering hop and it's harder to deside how much you need because you don't know the acid numbers. Other than that they are fine.

    Canmore Brew Guy's EHERMS Build

You probly need to edit them before you upload. Sight glass is good if it's protected especially if you may bump it while cleaning. Bottom drains may work on you BK, MT not sure how well it will work on BK as it may suck up too much hop. If your using thermocouple I wouldn't bother with...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I don't usually get this much foam. I gravity drain the boil kettle through a counter flow chiller into the carboy. Just the dribbling had foam to the top. Just was wondering if there was a reason. Makes it hard to aerate. Foam wasn't disappearing so I just proceeded with o2 and yeast and rinsed...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Wiped this up today. Is the wart usually real foamy? Purity much had the carboy to the brim with foam. After O2 and poring in the starter I had a bit of a mess. I'm thinking it's going to need a blow off tube. Maybe the hops cause the foam?

    Freezing wort for yeast starter?

The canning you are thinking of is done in a pressure cooker. The wart will last indefinatly after pressure cooking and will not need to be reheated (pasturised) to use. If freezing I would boil before reuse. Remember you are stepping, introduce a bug early and you are stepping them up as well.

    Maintaining a house yeast

How bad are other bugs? I've been trying to get a clean starter culture going and I'm having a hard time. I've been using a scope and always have the odd bacteria hitching along. I've been trying to get streaking agar plates down to get a clean strain but there is always some form of bacteria. I...

Is there anything different than stepping up an ale strain? Just did some plate streaks to isolate a clean culture and will be stepping up soon. I'm working with WLP 833.
