    Cold Crash Conical?

I recently got a 12.5 gallon conical and an upright freezer for fermentation. If I'm going to dump the yeast when fermentation is complete, is there any reason to cold crash before kegging? Thanks Andy

Pump wort ~ 30 feet to fermenter?

A friend of mine gave me his spare 12.5 gallon conical fermenter. I brew in my carport, approx 30-40 ft away from my fermentation chamber. Would a chugger pump work to pump the wort from my brew setup to the fermenter? If so, what are you doing to get the wort out of the 30-40' of tubing...

Opinions on BIAB with Top Up Water

I'd like to get some opinions on doing a 10 gallone 1.093 OG beer biab using a keggle and top up water. According to beersmith, I could mash in with 11.6 gallons, leaving enough room in the keggle for the water and 33 lbs of grains. Grain weight isn't a problem, as a brew in my carport and...

Serving higher carbed Belgian Tripel from balanced system

My system is balanced with 4' of 3/16 lines for serving at 12-13 psi. Any suggestions for serving a belgian tripel, which needs ~ 20psi to carb up to the recommended 3.3v? Thanks Andy

Keg Now or Wait Another Week

I brewed a Belgian Triple 2 weeks ago and was planning on leaving in primary for three weeks then kegging. Made a 2 step starter and the yeast did their job in a hurry (WLP 500). OG was 1.082 and is now 1.010. Started fermentation at 65 and slowly ramped up to 72. Is there any benefit to...

    Kitchen Taps

As part of a recent kitchen remodel, my awesome wife shocked me and said yes to putting two taps in the kitchen. The kegerator is a Danby unit I got on sale at Costco, big enough for two corny kegs and a 5# CO2 bottle. There was a hole in the back for the CO2 line. I enlarged the hole to...

Re-sanitize keg that had co2 leak?

I cleaned, sanitized and pressurized a corny keg about a month ago. Turns out the pressure release valve was leaky, which I replaced. Keg holds pressure fine now. Think it needs re-sanitizing before filling? Thanks

Help Running Cold Beer Lines from Fridge to Taps in the Wall

I've been reading through lots of setups, and got the go ahead from SWMBO to put a couple of taps in our kitchen wall as part of a remodel. I picked up a Danby 5.2 cf kegerator from Costco for $369, and ordered a 2 tap fridge faucet upgrade from kegconnection. While this may have cost a...
