    PicoBrew Zymatic

I think you're mistaken, most of the current Z owners are Trashing this release over on Facebook, they have given us no reason to buy something new, they never updated the recipe crafter for the current model. I Love my Zymatic and do not see the benefit of this "updated" version.

5 Gallon 240v, unfortunately I think it's just two 110v heating elements I only have one 240V in my Kitchen so hopefully that's enough? Maybe it's just because the images aren't loading at work, but I see no info on dimensions. I know I can't fit the 7.5g or 10g anywhere, but come on how big is...

Must have ingredients for Asian cooking

Love Steamed Buns, Frankly it's the only thing I make that both Kids will eat. Still haven't got the pinching around till closed thing down, one day I'll get them looking nice But will settle for yummy. Low-protein flour was key in getting them fluffy, White Lily All-Purpose is actually in the...

    Steam Distillation of Hops

I have some samples of Hopzoil from Glacier farms (Chinook & El Dorado), at CBC to sample they just stuck the tip of a toothpick in then swirled the toothpick in your beer and that was strong. I dosed 4 gallons of an IPA with .25ml of the El Dorado and it took over a month to calm down to a...

    Hops to pair with Cashmere

Haven't used it yet but Mosaic will go great or maybe even Vic secret or Idaho 7 I've seen some reviews say it is "Silky" so maybe add some savory with Nelson could be a nice pair in a pale.

    whichs hops for ipa

the AA% for Apollo seems low it's usually 15%+ But it can also be used late for a grapefruit aroma and flavor. Not everyone like is But I do. The Buzz Bullet bled should be nice and citrusy and go well with Cascade If you want more piney with your Citrus go with the two blends Buzz & Falconers...

    English Mild Looking for Help

I love Ron's blog and research, and honestly had not looked much into Milds, thanks for the Link. I had always assumed that some of the milds downfall was due to the over use of caramel as coloring and that it was a recent addition. Although here is a 1839 100% "Mild Malt" and @ 11.43%ABV...

    English Mild Looking for Help

I have not done many Milds but at first glance If you already mixed in the Flaked corn...I would remove the Sugar and maybe bump up the Maris Otter by .75# Use .5# Crystal malts (120 or 60+120) and maybe 6oz of Chocolate. 4oz of of Biscuit malt can be a nice addition as well. adjust for your...

    Dry hopping with LupuLN2

The powdered version tends to float and stay on top, I had some that were still dry and floating on top after a week, the pelleted version acts more like traditional Pellets. I've been bagging and weighing it down.

How does one explain the taste of Saison "funk"

Who doesn't love horse blanket? Ridden hard and hung up wet. I like my saisons ,but agree most of the descriptors are not appealing. I've used fruity and spicy, but some have a lot more earth and straw. but I also like the Funk, Tear the Roof off the Sucker :mug:

    Coil Cleaning

You could try a Citric Acid Passivation. 4% Citric Acid @180F for 120 min. there is also a commercial product CitiSurf $$$- that has some other anti-corrosive agents added. And If your water has high levels of chloride it could counter the passivation process. here is a long PFD of...

Corny as primary and serving keg

I ferment 3.5 gallon batches all the time in Kegs (w/AirLock) and 4g with a Spunding valve. Just get another Keg and pressure transfer to it for serving. I cut 1.5" off the end of the Dip Tube for fermenting, and have a few extra Dip tubes to swap between serving kegs and fermenting Kegs. New...

Most aggressive yeast you know about?

Agree! If you don't like the funk you can run the first two days at 68 then Ramp up the Temp Also WLP644- has always fully attenuated for me. you could also do a blend or start with an Ale yeast and finish with a saison.
