What was your "I Finally Got It" moment?

This weekend I finally had my "I Got It" moment. It's that moment when homebrewing makes sense to you, in a way that is more than just repeating facts or recommending a way to do things because that's the accepted way it is done. It's when homebrewing is more than conversion tables and...

    Illinois Beer Tasting Flights

HI Everyone, I made 4 sets of tasting flights out of reclaimed wood. Each set has 4 glasses which hold 5 ounces each. The wood has been given a coat of clear poly. This will be a pick up in Lombard Illinois, zip code 60148, as shipping will be more than what they cost. $12.00 per set.

First Brew In My New Brew Space

This is my first brew in our garage. Might not sound like much, but this house didn't have a garage so we had to build one. Finished it last September but life seems to have gotten in the way and I never had a chance to use it. The day went so smoothly with the extra space and 5.5 gallons...

    American Wheat Beer Berry Wheat

HI all, SWMBO put me to the challenge - make a clone of Leinenkugle Berry Weiss, but less sweet, so it can be more drinkable. I came up with this after a few tries, and I have to say it is one great beer! I have not entered it in any competitions, but I have had a few friends volunteer to...

    Questions on milling grains

Hi all, I have three questions on milling grains at home as opposed to buying ones pre crushed/milled. 1) the grain shell just needs to be cracked open, as opposed to actually grinding the grains - is this correct? 2) i see people list their 'efficiency' in ranges from 60% to 90% how do...
