Jhoneycutt, you must want to crawl under a rock after this year's SEC embarrassing display of “Big Boy Football." With the playoff, SEC Championships will be drastically reduced.

Sounds like somebody won't be watching their team in the playoffs and isn't happy about it. Go Ducks.

Aging beer: Facts, myths, and discussion

I found this topic very interesting. I just brewed (for the 2nd time), a pale ale (Deschutes Mirror Pond Clone). I brewed it on Friday, it appears to have hit terminal gravity (Monday, I'll check tomorrow). Lots of free English Ale yeast pitched (thanks to Ninkasi Brewing). I will keg it on...

Aging beer: Facts, myths, and discussion

Yuri, I'm thinking he meant a keg that was shaken to expedite carbonation, not one that had priming sugar (dextrose) added to it. I could be wrong. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Can you Brew It recipe for Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale

I've brewed this beer twice now. I use 100% Marris Otter as the base malt in addition to the two specialty malts. I also use my homegrown Cascades and free yeast from a local brewery. After getting a good deal buying the malt in bulk, this beer ends up costing me about 25 cents per pint and...

My March Pump Switch Install for Top Tier

Hi. Here are pictures of what I came up with for mounting a switch to control the March Pump on a Top Tier. I thought others that have the Blichmann Top Tier might want to consider this idea if they are planning on mounting a switch to the stand. This differs from the other pics I've seen...

Blichmann top tier + march pump + therminator configuration help!

I finally mounted a switch to control my march pump. I came up with an alternative idea of mounting the switch down low. This eliminated the need to run wires up the main post and keep things looking as clean as possible. As you will see in these pictures, I mounted the water-resistant switch...

Thanks! I just ordered a sight glass from Bobby (Brewhardware.com). That will be going on the HLT. Also, the fittings and valves etc. to get the March Pump up and running arrive tomorrow. I am looking forward to my next brew session.

Blichmann top tier + march pump + therminator configuration help!

Thanks Julian81, Ruffdeezy and zmurda. I appreciate the help. I ended up going with the Blichmann fittings because they have that ring around them that won't get hot. Here is a picture of my Blichmann TopTier assembled. I haven't ordered the Therminator yet, but I plan to. Until then I...

Very cool. Where is that swimming hole located?

Blichmann top tier + march pump + therminator configuration help!

Ruffdeezy/julian81/others, I just assembled my TopTier this weekend. I appreciate the pics you posted because that helped me decide on the configuration I wanted to start with. A few questions I have are: 1. Does it get very hot under the high mounted HLT? I am a little concerned about my...

    Show us your Kegerator

Hi. How is that drip tray attached? I used magnets because I was afraid that cooling lines likely ran behind the front skin and didn't want to drill there. Thanks.

Very clean looking. I like it! Also, I have a stout faucet on mine. If you haven't perfected the NITRO thing yet, I have found that it works perfectly to carb the beer to a very low level using CO2 and then put it on beer gas (75% NITRO, 25% CO2) @ 25 PSI. Leave it there for serving. It...

Specialty IPA: Rye IPA Denny Conn's Wry Smile Rye IPA

Are you fly sparging or batch sparging? If you are batch sparging, you do not need to perform a mash out because you will be getting the wort up to a boil immediately after the quick sparging process and those high temps. will halt any further conversion activity. Have fun. This beer is...
