Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

So I tried to make my second all grain with this batch, and got done and pulled out my h hydrometer and it broke, so no readings. Also walked to get my chiller put away and saw my hops sitting on the table. So how can I get the hops in? I a 5 gal batch in a 7 gallon fermentor if it helps.

The Worst Place You Have Ever Woken Up At...

Never woke up anywhere too bad, normally in bed with 3-4 female friends or in a recliner. But the first time I drank, my best freind and I knocked out a half gallon of Burnetts. I woke up with a busted chin from falling right on the rail while straddling the train tracks. We both weighed...

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

I had a similar experience with a 5# batch. Seems I remember reading somewhere in the thread that bigger batches tend to go a little sour.

    Bray's One Month Mead

I dont know about the gases but if I had to make a guess that sounds reasonable. Also if the honey was not completely dissolved it might still be coming into solution. Don't know if it could do that faster than the yeast could ferment though. Maybe someone who knows more could answer more...

The "We'll fix your label for you" thread

If any of you can make these dunes look more like sand that would be great. I have tried everything I could think of. Currently it a gradient with sandstone texture on it. Also if there is something to be done with the thumper (silver-thingy) to give it a more realistic look, tryed using the...

    Bray's One Month Mead

My plan is to do a kind of steep of bacon drippings in a bottle of vodka to make a kind of bacon extract to add to one of my gallons jugs, along with an undecided amount of maple syrup. I have some cherrywood malt I might try and add too to have a smoked bacon effect.

    Medieval Burnt Mead!

Just pitched some 71b onto a quart of honey I boiled for 45 minutes (just starting to smell burnt) for a 1 gal batch. It looked very dark and and smelled pretty good. Wanted to try it Bomm style but didnt have enough slurry in the secondary I had reracked. Guess Ill just have to wait like...

    Salt in beer????

I have a friend who does this religiously. I do occasionally and I feel it helps round out and mellow out beers for me. Im not a huge fan of bitter either. And the salt on paper napkins is a must.
