    Forbidden Chicken Fruit

This is pure curiosity. I'm not seriously suggesting this to anyone to try, due to the health risks which should be apparent. I was brainstorming a cream stout with vanilla, because I have a hankering for creme brulee, the reigning champion of desserts. Custardy-styles of beer are pretty...

    "Perfect" Honey Ginger Cider (Cyser)

Why the black tea? You're just puting the bag in primary?

    Beer for a Derby party

I was checking that out. The amount of corn freaks me out. But like, in a good way.

    Beer for a Derby party

huh. Two years in Louisville, and I never heard of the Kentucky Common. Maybe I was hanging out with the wrong hipsters. That's fascinating, I might try it.

    Beer for a Derby party

Hello everyone-- long time, no brew. :( It's been since August, and even though BierMuncher's Oktoberfast Ale went really well, I've been out of homebrew for months. Anyway, I've offered to make a batch for a Kentucky Derby party. I thought I would make a pretty easy-going amber, but they...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Hopefully I am too! :ban:

    Mistakes in Parenting

Our toddler pulled almost this exact same maneuver. Cried for five seconds, then ran off to find his juice. These little sprouts are tough, eh? I used to joke that "they're mostly cartilage at this point, so they bounce" just to make parents mad, but there seems to be a bit of truth to it.

My first attempt at brewing an IPA

Sure. But you're only doing it once. Just go slow, try not to splash, and keep the hose under the waterline of the bottling bucket. You'll be golden. :mug: EDIT: Better that than trying to bottle with a siphon straight from the primary. God, what a nightmare.

    Donovan's Best Label

That is a seriously classy label. Gives me ideas for making a beer for in-laws (who live in the Irish Hills, too)! I'm thinking... maybe I'll call it "Race Day", a good high-grav beer for when you can't drive anywhere. :)

What are you doing instead of brewing this weekend?

Was house-hunting this past weekend, and next weekend we'll be at my parents' house. Good thing, too, they're the only folks on the planet who have bottles of my last oatmeal stout. :) Holy ****. I dunno anything about Zen, but I bet beer would help. That sounds intense... better make it a...

First attempt and of course I screwed up - can I salvage it?

Sounds good chief! You'll be fine. You will need something else to prime with, though. :)

    Video Games

I'm not sure about that-- it seems to be more a callback to the probablistic/RPG system of the previous games (which I have at least dabbled in). And honestly, I don't hit everything I point a gun at in real life. A 50% chance to hit something in the head actually seems a bit high for anything...

    My Approach to Labels

Needs more America. Have you considered maybe some explosions? Cool label, this one and all the others!

    Video Games

Yeah, I was a little confused when a single shot from my 10mm decapitated a Vault 101 security officer. I've heard the artistic license with science only expands with time... probably confirmed with report that I'm hearing from my geeked friends that I will experience something called a "nuclear...

    The [Horribly Unpopular] Soccer Thread

Too right! I don't think it's a surprise that having Morgan at lone striker (plus the move to two central 6s plus Johnston not getting sent off plus a giveaway penalty) resulted in probably the WNT's best performance of the tournament.

    Video Games

All this news about Fallout 4 has driven me to pick up Fallout 3. Because, even though all the talk about it leads me to believe it's my kind of game... I've never even sniffed it. VATS is friggin' wicked!

Things about your co-workers that annoy you

This is actually a work requirement in my workplace. If you don't lock your workstation when you're away, even for a minute, you're liable to be red-teamed or scolded by a coworker. Did I mention that we're a HIPAA security section? Really wish more people did this, even outside HIPAA-covered...

    Peach wheat beer

You could soak half of them and add to secondary, if you're worried about the alcohol taste-- I just did this with black walnuts. It's just an easy way to pull chemicals out of your fruit, so they dissolve in the beer quicker. In a five-gallon batch, a little vodka isn't going to add much ABV.

    Don't Do That.

Wash out your airlock and leave it on a towel to dry... within reach of your counter-surfing puppy. Don't do that.

    Peach wheat beer

I like this idea. You could even soak them with vodka once they've cooled. That would help pull the flavors out and sanitize them. But I wouldn't add until after primary ferm is complete. :off: Also, I like your handle. He's the best.
