    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Working from home and going no where for last 4 months has saved me a load of cash. I pulled the trigger on the 10.5 last. Arrived with some serious dents inside the boiler which Anvil had no problems replacing. Hoping this reduces my propensity to burn myself during the brew day.

    Belgian has bitter after taste

Just popped a cap to check if carbonating. It most definitely is! :ban: And it tastes great, the back end is a changing for the better. Patience now.

    Belgian has bitter after taste

Thanks I've been fretting over that for a week. I managed to get 5-gal out of the fermenter and planned to carb at 3.5 which a hefty 7.8 oz corn sugar. Boiled and cooled the sugar, added to bottling bucket and stirred it in gently. Then I bottled it into sanitized thick bottles. So far so...

    My First Keg

Bought a new keg/regulator from Kegconnection, sanitized it with StarSan, and promptly racked in my latest batch. Patiently waited while it carbed up and then poured lovely looking glass of beer. Sadly it, and several subsequent pours, had a such a metallic taste that I eventually dumped it...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just finished bottling my Franken Tripel - started with 5-gal but after much sampling only had enough for 1 3/4 cases. If the weather holds, I'll be brewing my first Irish Red (all grain). Finally have all the equipment I need having completed a DIY wort chiller last week. Stoked! :ban:

    Fermentation continuing past goal

Brewed the Brewer's Best Belgian Tripel on 11/30 (OG 1.081). The fermentation got stuck at 1.031 through 12/21. I read on these forums that this does sometimes happen with this kit. I checked around with brewers I knew and got a variety of responses: Stir it up, raise the temperature, add...

    Hello from Charleston SC

Wow its been a while since that last post, but now I've committed myself to brewing a batch. Have all the kit to brew an oatmeal stout (all grain) and just today bought a mini-fridge for a fermenter. It's a pretty tight fit for my 1-gal bucket. Figured I would start small until I get the hang of...
