    Dumping on yeast cake with gelatine?

    I've reused an ale yeast cake that had gelatin in it with no problems. Give it a try and good luck.:mug:

    Trouble with Johnson controller

    You don't need a fan at all,just tape the probe to the side of your fermenter and tape some insulation over the probe. I use a johnson analog controller for fermenting and with this setup my temps stay where I set them. The thing I found with mine is I have to set the controller 4 deg. cooler...

    Hops in Connecticut.

    I'm in Coventry and my hops are doing very well. I'm growing cascade and centennial. Just place them in a dry sunny spot and they'll be fine.

    My hops arrived!!!!!!

    I left mine in the bag with a damp paper towel for about a month and a half until the ground thawed for good. My hops grew to the top of my 20 ft poles and then grew another 4 to 5 ft.     Brand new EZ flip-cap bottles not carbonating!

    There are seams in the plastic tops from the mold.Sand these seams smooth and your problems will be gone.

    Hop Variety Questions?

    Plant 1 is cascade and plant 2 is centennial.I have the same 2 verities in my garden and yours look the same as mine.Hope this helps.:mug:

    Thats not a problem the hop cones are made of leaves. Hope this helps.

    SWMBO found something interesting info about tricking first year hops

    My first year cascades and centenials both have lots of cones. I wasn't expecting any cones for the first year but it looks like I'm going to get a decent harvest.:rockin:

    did i ruin this brew pot?

    Mine looked the same way after boiling water in it the first time.I just used it that way and eventualy it turned a nice even grey.I never had any metalic off flavor that I could tell.Just use it and RDWHAHB.:mug:
