Virginia Two 1500W 120V Heat Sticks - Brand New

Yeah, I would love to have a higher wattage, but I needed something that wouldn't overload the standard circuits.

Virginia Two 1500W 120V Heat Sticks - Brand New

I recently assembled a couple heat sticks because I thought my original ones had been lost. Welp, I found them and now have no need for two new ones. I did not cheap out or take shortcuts on any of the parts used to make these. All metal parts are JB Welded meticulously and cleanly. Even the...

    DIY Custom Crown Caps!

That particular can of lacquer is satin, so if you like that kind of finish, go for it. Personally, I like the semi gloss to better mimic regular bottle caps.

    DIY Custom Crown Caps!

Not dumb at all! Think of the matte medium as the glue and the lacquer as the finishing gloss coat. The matte medium is applied with a brush and the lacquer as a spray. Instead of matte medium, many craft stores (pretty much all of them) sell something called "Mod Podge". You can use that...

    DIY Custom Crown Caps!

Which images in particular? I am able to see all of the ones I've looked for so far. I could be overlooking something, so I might be able to track down the ones you need with a bit more detail.

    The FerMonitor Lives

I agree that the details aren't really all that revealing, but I don't see why it would be impossible to incorporate an arduino device that could control relays and other devices. Like you said, it's a step in the right direction. Personally, I like the real time monitoring for little other...

Ha, yeah, good catch. They've posted this picture pretty recently... http://i.imgur.com/KoBKj.jpg ...and they have this video about it... Edit:... and this article about the project: http://hamptonroads.com/2011/11/small-tech-helpful-bug-home-brewers

    The FerMonitor Lives

These folks are just about to hit the market... http://www.thebeerbug.com/ https://twitter.com/theBeerBug/ HBT users got strung along. Either jmansfield is the worst business person ever, or it was a scam all along. Thankfully, other folks came through with something that looks promising.

Help creating label strips going over the cap?

You might wanna check out this site for die cut sticker strips... http://www.onlinelabels.com/material_white_matte_labels.htm I believe they provide templates for use in Word as well.

    DIY Custom Crown Caps!

There are a few things that need to be done properly to make sure the image is transfered properly. - First, the medium needs to be applied in a thin, full coverage coat (pretty obvious, but I feel like I need to say it for the sake of completeness). Once the image is applied, the paper...

    DIY Custom Crown Caps!

Once the image is printed, you can wait as long as you want to transfer. It's not like a stamp or anything where you need wet ink to transfer from one medium to the other. It is pretty much gluing down the image to the cap, and then the paper is rubbed away leaving only the slightest remnants...

    Bar Rebuild

Judging by the startegically placed smudging in the first pic, I think he wants to keep that to himself...haha.

What is Lambic & Wild Brewing

The ones I had in Brussels certainly had a lot of carbonation (or at least nothing I found to be anywhere close to flat..name brand or otherwise). It was true for the flavored and unflavored varieties. What brand are you trying?

    Ideas for liquid density sensors

To all prospective digital hydrometer creators: Don't forget, you have to account for trub (or any solids floating around in there) as well as CO2 build-up. CO2 accumulation I could imagine being a problem for anything that relies on floating devices. Solids might clog or obscure other types...

    Ideas for liquid density sensors

Someone is apparently on the case: http://www.fermonitor.com ...but I'd highly encourage competition. You most certainly have time. It was announced in December of 2008 (more or less) and the domain was registered in March of 2010. Needless to say, his concept is "on the slow boat to...
