    pretty sure it was called the box or the pain box. I just made this beer again for the third time. Its one I always have to keep on tap for my and my friends girlfriends since all the guys drink IPAs. I bottled half of this last batch to give to people as presents this year.

    Even with gas you shouldn't have the flame directly on the glass, its best to use a Ceramic Wire Gauze square between them. They're cheap and it also helps so the heat doesn't concentrate on one area on the bottom of the flask. Here's one from United Nuclear, I'm sure you can find different...

    Burning a hole in my grain bag? Help

    when I steep grains I always tie the bag off to the handle of the pot with some twine, just enough so that all the grain was submerged but the twine didn't hang into the liquid at all. avoids any scorching on the bottom of the pot and its easier to fish out, just pull the twine up.

    LHBS has most of their hops for $3/oz. a few were cheaper, Argentine Cascade was $2.50/oz, and some were more expensive like Spalt and Saaz.

    Brewers Best Kits

    My first two batches were the BB Oktoberfest, and the IPA, both were very well recieved. The IPA doesn't end up being too bitter, it would be a good one to add some more hops too if you felt the need.
