    Got a Macbook

My iBook is gettng long in the tooth (and short on keys since my 1 year old found it). So I went and got a black macbook today. I'll get to play with it once the kid's in bed. I can finally run beer alchemy!

    My kegerator project- Part 1

My kegs finally came last week so I've been sinking all my free time into my kegerator project. I starter with a 100L Haier chest freezer. I was happy to see four kegs fit... albeit barely. I needed a huge collar to fit kegs and tubing and have room to move things around. I decided to split...

    Gas line question

In ordering all my kegging stuff I just ordered a bunch of Super flex tubing (http://www.brewersdiscount.com/item5074.ctlg) it says it "can be used as air line" in the description. Should I replace the CO2 line portion with gas specific hose?

    Homebrew shop closing (CA?)

This looks to be in California, south of Sacramento, east of the Bay Area. No good to me, though.

    I hate waiting

I have been waiting for my kegs since April. They shipped on the 19th of April. That's 7 weeks ago. Expect 4-6 weeks my ass. The other stuff I bought has been here for a few weeks... but it's hard to start kegging without any ****ing kegs. I hate waiting for ****.

Why AREN'T you brewing this week?

I actually am brewing right now. Low ABV pale ale, hoppy, 3.5%, American pale with some Marris Otter (Advanced Homebrewing, Tokyo). So, what's your excuse for not brewing this weekend? The idea of this post was shamelessly stolen from the BrewBoard.

    Keg Height

My kegs will not be here for another 4-6 weeks. But I will have some time off work and want to get my chest freezer kegerator rolling. Without kegs of my own to measure I am stuck not really knowing the height of the kegs and the clearance I will need for hoses etc. Mine are ball lock cornys...

    Another Future Kegger

My wife HATES the bottles that are invariably always lying around all the time. The other day I off handedly say, "it would cost like a thousand dollars to start kegging." She didn't seem too shocked. It turns out it is totally worth it to her to pay $1000 dollars (really $700 at current...

    Guess my Water

What's the Most Important Thing in Brewing Great Beer?

The title explains the entire question. But for you, what is the most important part of making great beer..... ignoring Sanitation. I think we can all agree, from the hot water kit brewers to the 50g all grain brewers, that sanitation can kill your beer faster than you can drink it. Apart...

    Tastings

Well the weekly tastings are gone. Too bad. Not enough participation etc seems to have done them in. What I would like to put together is a list of commercially available beers that have identifiable tastes in them. For example, Light struck- Corona, Becks I'd like to be able to to say...
