    Repitching yeast

I captured yeast from my new chronical, put it on the fridge, now do I just pour off the beer and dump the rest into my new batch or do I separate the yeast further? (Everything was sanitized prior to capturing the yeast.)

    Building a "weldless Wallace"

Hi, I'm in the process of building a HERMS like the weldless Wallace. I read that the heat has an effect on the galvanized steel. Can I paint it with a high heat paint before using it or do I have to use it a few times first? Any tips are appreciated. Thanks. :mug:

HELP: Drastic temp drop with my lager

Hi, I am doing my first lager. It was brewed last week:mug. I had it in my keezer at 52 (the 904 Mexican yeast said between 50-55). 7 days after brewing I decided to paint my keezer's wooden collar and left the top open overnight to let the paint dry. When I got up this morning the...

How to control the fan speed in a stirplate (home made)

Hi, I made my own stirplate with a computer fan and it looked and worked okay. It is basically a fan mounted in a wood craft box with an on/off switch and a potentiator. The fan was cheap and died recently. I replaced the fan with a heavy duty fan from Radio shack (120 vac)...

Well, It's not my 1st mistake and it won't be the last. I was trying a creme ale recipe and I forgot to add the flaked corn (1 lb) to the mash. I noticed it when I started the boil and decided to throw it in. I strained most of the large pieces out when filling the primary fermentor. I plan...

    Not Carbonating

Hi, I'm an intermediate homebrewer and I'm having a hard time getting a version of fatboy amber ale carbonated. I've been able to get my other beers carbonated after about 4 days at 12 psi, at 50 degrees. Do some beers take longer? I've cranked it up to 22 psi and see no leaks. I'll...
