Wild grapes, what should I make?

So I made a five gallon batch of wine following the advise in the links posted by yooper. I just racked it for the third time a few days ago and took my first taste test, it is very tart. Drinkable but not good, I think I will probably save it for blending. I have some large wine bottles I can...

    Crazy Idea for Mead/Beer Hybrid

XI'm thinking about either a blonde ale, red ale, or porter with around 10 pounds of honey fermented dry with wine yeast and treated like a wine. I will bottle age it for at least two years on top of the time it has in carboy (probably open one at one year to check progress though) so it will...

    Kombucha & Beer...

In my opinion after experimenting a bit, you are better off not adding a scoby to your brew, just the kombucha itself. 1/3 kombucha has worked out good for me.

    Kombucha & Beer...

I have done a few experiments with it to hold me over as I get into sour beers since I already brew and drink kombucha everyday. I have a one gallon batch that is 2/3 pale ale wort and 1/3 kombucha going on about a year right now with a nice pellicle that I'm not really sure what to do with. I...

    Cross contamination questions

I'm new to brewing sour and haven't really gotten into it much yet, I have a second set of carboys and brewing equipment for it and recently started a kombucha wine but I can't wait to brew a Brett. I bought some books to read up on sour brews first though. Anyway, my question is about cross...

    Wine into Vinegar (on purpose)

I have three five gallon carboys of different honey wines going in the basement and just bottles about four gallons of vinegar. I didn't know it was a bad idea to make them in the same place. Now that the vinegar is gone will my wines be ok if I open them up in a few weeks to rack?

    Skeeter Pee

I'm making a blueberry pee this weekend that I will age on Jack Daniel bourbon barrel chips when it go's to secondary.

    Coffee Kombucha

I'm drinking a coffee kombucha now and I'm thinking about doing the next batch with espresso

    Kombucha cider???

Blending in my cup has been working out great so I will probably just keep making them separate and doing that. I also experimented with blending it with a cheaper lambic beer and that was excellent. Just a small amount of a raspberry lambic gave a full glass of kombucha great flavor.

    Hop soda?

What about making an essential oil from hops and using that for flavor? I have heard of people making essential oils with hops to use as aromatherapy to help them sleep but I don't know about flavoring a drink.

    Hop soda?

I don't know about everyone else but I was talking more about a lemon lime soda that is heavy on the hops. Malta is good though.

You know you're a home brewer when?

When you catch yourself admiring the color of a glass of ice tea you just brewed.

You know you're a home brewer when?

I actually answered my own question the other day then realized it was a question I asked a long time ago and forgot so I deleted the answer before anyone saw it.

    Kombucha cider???

I mixed a couple glasses with homemade Apple wine and kombucha and it was really good, I might just make more Apple wine and then blend it with kombucha to taste in my bottling bucket before bottling it I will just need to make sure it is a strong kombucha with all the sugar fermented out of it...

    Adventures in Kefir

Store bought is not made with grains I believe you can use it once our twice to make more like you can do with the powdered culture kefir but you need grains to keep making it. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Kefir from grains is completely different from what you buy in the store.

    Skeeter Pee

I bottled my batch that was backsweetened with frozen strawberry concentrate and I didn't like it at first but it is growing on me. I will probably try adding fruits to primary and sweetening normally next time

    Adventures in Kefir

They're is no reason for it to interfere with brewing, you just put your grains in milk in a main jar on the counter with a coffee filter on top to keep dust out and every day or two transfer the grains to fresh milk and drink the fermented milk they came out of. Same thing with water kefir...

    Hop soda?

Ok thanks for the info, I won't try using it in my soda, I will just use fresh hops and add them when I turn the heat off after dissolving my sugar.

    Hop soda?

Northern brewer sells hopshot and I know there are a few other brewing sites that have their own version of hop oil that is made for brewing.
