    I typically carb my ciders to 2 volumes. Just go by a regular priming calculator.

    That's why I was suggesting ec 1118 I use it to make Skeeter Pee all the time. Skeeter is a very acidic environment but 1118 never has a problem

    Oh ok I see what you're saying. My wife is the one is kombucha maker but I get it. do you think adding sugar to the finished kombucha then pitching yeast could work

    The process you are describing is something like what I was thinking I will try. I would think something strong like 1118 would be able to outcompete the bacteria for the sugar and create alcohol

    The carbonated version is ready . The carbonation cuts the artificial sweetness a bit and makes it perfect. Great Mountain dew flavor and not too sweet.

    Try using Brewers Best Cider House Select yeast. Even fermenting down to 1.0 leaves a nice apple flavor behind.

    I didn't think it was necessary. There's a nice Mt. Dew flavor and the artificial sweetener that's in the syrup was enough for me.

    Indeed! I wouldn't think so, but I suppose it's possible. The descriptions on the menu make no mention of either of those.

    That's part of my point. Really, your gonna sit there worried about "evil" Monsanto corn (when there is no evidence to show dangers) and keeping toxins and chemikillz out of your body, but have no problem with the alcohol itself. Its being anti something just to be anti something.

    Meh asking for ingredients list is pretty silly. Why? So the crunchy hippy guy who has a imaginary sensitivity to GMOs can make sure acceptable ingredients are used when at the end of the day alcohol is a carcinogen anyway.

    Have been trying to figure this out for awhile. New Holland always has one or two alcoholic kombuchas on tap usually around 3-4% abv.

    Cold crashing or preservatives..or both?

    I'm pretty sure I've seen on here people doing it with cold crash but admittedly not sure how that one works.
