    Anyone brewing in Lakeland, FL

I've caught a couple of their meetings on accident. I guess I'm just not that sociable. I've got some beer I got to get to making soon. I've got empty kegs. :X

    Adding hops to commercial beer?

I ended up giving it to alcoholic friends in 2 liter soda bottles. Why would I need a few days off to go on a serious bender? lol.

    $7 wine corker review.

Unless the bottle is cracked or something it isn't going to break. It doesn't take much pressure to put the corks in if they are wet with sanitizer. It didn't feel much different than capping a beer bottle to me to be honest. Hitting it with a hammer probably isn't the right thing to do for...

    $7 wine corker review.

As a follow up, I've bottled about 100 bottles with this corker at this point. No issues. I'm not sure I will ever upgrade since I will probably only be corking a batch or so a year. It only takes a few seconds to cork a bottle.

Anyone know what this corny was used for?

I spent a little time reading about it last night. It seems like the benefits over just shaking/rolling the keg while hooked to gas would be you don't have to pick up a 50lb keg and shake it or roll it around. I thought it might not disturb the sediment at the bottom but all those bubbles and...

Anyone know what this corny was used for?

Im just glad it wasn't some sort of bug sprayer attachment. :)

Anyone know what this corny was used for?

I thought it might be. I looked them up a few minutes ago because I vaguely remembered having something similar for co2 in a fish tank. I'm excited. It means it was used for beer or soda. It is clean inside and the gaskets look new. Do they work well?

Anyone know what this corny was used for?

I bought this for $20. Anyone know what it was modded for. The hose in the middle has a metal stopper at then end with no opening.

    $7 wine corker review.

NP Jhiggy. Number, did you see any reviews or anything before ordering it?

    $7 wine corker review.

Bernard, I have no problem holding the bottle and the lower piece in one hand and applying pressure with the other. It felt pretty secure to me. I guess if I planned to use it a lot that I might make a wooden square or use a hold saw to cut a circle in a piece of wood to hold the bottle so I...

    $7 wine corker review.

I read about corks and corkers for a week before I ordered the corks from Northern Brewer with my order and then another week passed before I ordered the corker from eBay. My wife got tired of watching me read about corkers and corks and suggested I just buy the expensive one and be done with...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I was just trying to understand why color would be a motivating factor. I guess I should compare it to gun restoration. I spent considerable time and effort making a shellac to be just the right color to restore a Mosin Nagant to original. I have never looked at my beers that way. Comere...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I don't think I've ever looked at a beer and thought "I don't like the color of this." I've made one or two that I thought might of looked nicer if they were redder maybe. I can understand clarity, but not so much color. How far off are the colors that you don't enjoy the beer anymore? I...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I did AG the traditional way and then BIAB and then dropped back to mostly extract. I think my beers are still getting better, but it is mostly because I've gotten more patient.:) I've never worried about color. I know there are rules and the like for competitions, but I don't plan on...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I have a 4 tap TDD4 kegerator, kegs, 4-5 CO2 tanks, a chest freezer, a portable AC, and a bunch of other things. Those aren't really from going all grain. I think most extract brewers would move on to kegs eventually. I'm not sure I ever saved money, but maybe. $10 6packs. I probably...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

The grain itself isn't what made you better, but the equipment. I'd call that moving to the next level. That doesn't really have to do with grain, does it?

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I didn't see that great of a cost savings for all grain. Once I had the equipment, extra propane used each time, and the like... I realized it would take me a hundred batches to make up the difference. That is when I started doing BIAB some and sold my equipment. How much money do you all...

    Skeeter Pee

I guess that could be it. I don't think I would go much over 10% I used 1 packet of Montrachet and it was moving happily the next day. .69 at Northern Brewer. I order about 10 of them every time I make a order. Then I hand them out to people who are just getting started to make...

Is all grain is that much better or is it just that you have become a better brewer?

I've been brewing for 7 years or so. I do fade in and out of it. I've done all three. While I have made a gruit and am about to make another, I mostly stick to hoppy and dark beers with the occasional wheat or rye thrown in. I have very little interest in any lagers or light beers outside of...
