    Another IIPA recipe opinion ?

I'm done with adjuncts for quite some time. I'm moving on to simple recipes for IPAs, Stouts and Brown Ales. Speaking of the cabin, there will be some serious head dunking in the creek at 3am if you bring that IIPA and it's 9% abv action. Maybe next time we can get a little more notice and...

    Chocolate mint stout

Yeah...it's definitely something i want to try again...i will definitely reduce the ammount of mint i use in the boil and cut the lifesaver...if i think it needs more mint flavor after primary fermentation i'll add a tee when i keg it...good to hear that this recipe did turn out well without...

    Chocolate mint stout

I brewed a chocolate mint stout from a recipe in a book titled Radical Brewing...the recipe called for an ounce of mint leaves added to the boil and also adding a mint lifesaver as well...the beer turned out a bit too minty for my taste...i let it sit for a couple months and it was still too...

The starter has been sitting on my kitchen counter at room temp 68 - 70 degrees for that time. Am I ok to use the starter as is or do i need to get another vial of...

I am planning to batch sparge with 2 equal portions...I read your post on batch sparging and it helped me understand the whole process very much...Any reason you suggest to wait to use the 5.2?...i was under the impression that 5.2 has more pros than cons and not knowing the water makeup of my...

    1st AG - Advice

Thanks for the suggestion...I have extra light DME on my shopping list... FEARDIZ...of course i haven't done an AG brew but from my readings on this forum I believe the gravity before and after the boil should be the same so if you are low on your gravity before you boil you should add a...

    1st AG - Advice

I'm hoping to brew Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde saturday for my first AG. I have a few questions if you have a few minutest to give some advice. 1. Should I up the base grains and expect to get a lower efficiency than 70% the recipe calls for? 2. I'm expecting i'm not going to be...

    What do I brew next?

I didn't think I liked stouts until I made the Murphy's Irish Stout clone from Austin Homebrew Supply. It was very good and I definitely recommend giving that a try if you want to give it a go. I now have plans to brew a couple stouts after making that kit. even SWMBO enjoyed that beer and...

Flyguy...you are the bomb. I made this reflective blanket for my 30 qt SS turkey fryer pot and worked like a charm...I was doing 5 gal boils and it would boil but wouldn't get to a good roiling boil...with the blanket i'm now boiling close to 6 gal and getting a nice good roiling boil. Thanks...
