    Home brew beer tasting night

Myself and two other home brewing friends hosting a home brew tasting night. We offered quite a selection and I think we converted a couple BMC friends into the finer taste of craft brewing. Mission accomplished. We had lots of fun. Anyone else throw a party like this?

    Carb. question

Maybe try rousing the yeast in the bottles up by turning upside down (gently) then turning back over and swirling (gently) and wait another week. ....Thoughts on this from our more experienced members?

How to pour a Black & Tan

I just use a spoon and pour really slow. Takes a lot of practice to get it right.

    hydrometer

Not a rookie mistake at all. As long as you sanitize you hydrometer, there is nothing wrong with reading from the fermenter. Cheers!

    Adding Coffee to Porter

I might add... I sanitized all of my coffee making equipment first and brought the water to make the coffee to a boil, which is standard French press process.

    Adding Coffee to Porter

I just did a vanilla coffee porter. I added a pot of French pressed coffee into the bottling bucket, racked and then bottled.

    Vortex of fermenting beer

Don't worry to much man. Cool it down when you get home. You may have created something totally unique and awesome. I had a similar situation and my beer still tasted ok. Might not be what you were shooting for though. RDWHAHB Cheers!

First Brew Problems and Second Brew Ideas

IMO If your doing a wheat beer or Belgian style, honey pairs pretty well with orange peel and coriander.

    My first brew is ruined!!

I would still bottle it. It might be fine, as stated earlier... "it's hard to mess up beer".

Side by side! Blue moon vs. Blue moon clone.

I'm looking into kegging, I have a kegarator already. It's just converting to do home-brew. I like the thought but I like having bottles too. I'm more torn than Natalie Imbruglia... :drunk:

Side by side! Blue moon vs. Blue moon clone.

I kinda rushed this one, it was chilled for three days.

Side by side! Blue moon vs. Blue moon clone.

Haha, indeed my second brew. The one on the right is mine (wish I had the clarity of the original). I'm very surprised how close they are in taste...perhaps beginners luck but my taste test panel of friends has approved! So I guess, mission accomplished! :mug: cheers!
