    Hi all. Just bottled my first brew. Got my second ready to go. Now ive given my fermenter a good clean with some fragrance free detergent and santizer solution. In fact ive let it sit for 30 mins in the sanitizer but the smell from my last brew is still there a bit!? Will this affect my next...

    Yes. It was brewed from a kit. A simple open a can, add sugar and water then yeast. Its my first so I wanted to take baby steps before I move into partial/grain. Many thanks for your help everybody. I tasted it after I measured the sample. Tastes alright. Like a weizen just a bit less...

    Thanks for the advice people. I think I will go get another bucket then. I dont want bottle bombs! Im nervous enough about infections as it is, lets not throw explosives into the mix!

    No. I was planning on making up the priming sugar solution in a pint jug. Then pouring straight into the bottles. Then filling up bottles straight from the fermenting bucket. I would like to do it the normal way but havent got a secondary bucket yet.

    Hi, So im still new here an im preparing for my first ever bottling session. I was wondering what the more advanced brewers would advise? My beer is fermenting in my spare room upstairs. I would like to bottle in my kitchen downstairs (nearer to stanatizing gear). Will I be alright moving it...

    Thanks for the reassurance. I must admit, until its been bottled and ready to drink.........and then......with fingers crossed it tastes alright, I will be panicing. Beginners nerves I suppose.

    Ahhh. Time difference. Im in the UK. Started the brew at about midday. Its 3pm here now. And the brew is in my bath in cold water. I havent got enough ice for a proper ice bath.

    Thanks for the advice. I will go run it a cold bath now then. Id been letting it cool naturlly! Hope its not knackerd been cooling for an hour! Whoops. But it is in a cool room with no breeze or dust.
