Northern Brewer - Hopquila - Tequila IPA

Waking up an old thread, sorry. I wanted to make this one again for the Summer, but looks like it isn't on the NB website anymore. I looked in my stash of recipes and found an extract copy of Hopquila Robusto, but can't find the all-grain version. Some searching found this one, and it looks...

No Old Fezziwig Ale in this years SA Holiday brews

Adventures in Homebrewing has a recipe on their site, I've never tried it. Keeping my eye on this to see if you come up with a good clone.

Why is the term "brewing company" more commonly used than "beer company" in craft?

FPNI. A distributor can be called a beer company. Craft breweries are who they are because of the way the brew beer, everything else (tap room, sales, marketing, etc.) supports that.

Suggestions for a light Color summer beer

Yep. I just brewed up Northern Brewer's Petite Saison d'Ete, makes for a great Summer brew. I made it last year, was the first saison I ever tried, and really liked it.

    Northern Brewer Bastard Stepson Kit

I just ordered that one, thought it would be a fun experiment. Should be here in time to brew up next weekend. The funniest part is the change in the name, I'm guessing the "Uncle" folks did some shouting at the first version. If this compares well to "Not Your Father's Root Beer", then it...

    Easy Wide Mouth Bubbler Modification

@ahariton Seal is very poor on the big-mouth bubblers. I would never use one for anything other than a primary due to the lack of a good lid seal. Check the reviews on Northern Brewer and other places for the same story. If they make a better lid, it would be a great tool. Until then it may...

Need Oppinions: (Dry Dock Paragon Apricot Blonde)

I made that one last Summer, and was very pleasantly surprised. I have never tried the original, so didn't know what to expect. The apricot was subtle and added good flavor to the bear, it didn't taste like fruit punch or some teeny-bopper beer. Oh, and I just followed the recipe as-is, no...

    Hard Arnold Palmer

Or make the seperately and just blend it to taste. You could take a 10% Skeeter Pee and blend it with some good brewed tea and bring it to a 5-6% Hard Arnie.

    Pumpkin Spice Cider

Should that be "apple pie spice" or "pumpkin pie spice"?

    Peach pumpkin anyone

LOL - looks like Northern Brewer already came up with a kit for that one. The Bud drinkers are already piling on the comments.

Any suggestions for additions to NB's Irish Red

A clean glass, and some fresh soft pretzels? Sorry, don't mean to be a smartass, I'm curious as to what might be a good mod for that recipe. I'm brewing that one just after the New Year, one of my favorites. I like it as-is, but there are some pretty clever mad scientists here that may have...

    Fruit cobbler ale

I love the idea, let us know how it turns out. I did the Dry Dock Apricot Blonde from Northern Brewer last Summer, and was very happy with it. Apricot puree during fermentation, and a bit of extract right before bottling time. I like your ideas for the crust flavors.

    Best gravity for bottle carb

Sweeten based on the SG, instead of taste? More scientific, but might not result in something you want to drink. If you only want carbonation, and not sweetness, they you are probably safe with the 1oz/gal as if you were bottle conditioning beer. In that case, the point would be to consume...
