    Dark Lord Day 2013

This was my first time trying Darklord and I didn't expect it to live up to the hype. But imo, it was incredible! Coffee flavor was very pronounced and I didn't notice that it was overly malty (although, my pallet was probably not in the best shape at the time). I also didn't make it over to...

    Post your infection

I was out of carboys and racked to an extra bucket to dry hop. After 7 days I opened up to this. Any idea what it is?

    Third Shift Brewing?

I had this the other day when it was on tap smack in the middle of several craft taps. I enjoyed it, checked it in on untappd, then saw it was coors. wow.

Bottled in 1959.....Whats the oldest beer you have ever drank?

I recently went to a Vintage Beer Fest in chicago. I think the oldest beer i've ever had was there, and I think it was 1999. They had older stuff, but cost several tickets for just a taster... meh.

    Dark Lord Day 2013

luckily my buddy was able to get tickets, so I'm going! I have some friends that want me to get them some Darklord bottles. Anybody know some good trade bait? So far I was thinking: Cigar City Hunahpu 2013 and Stone 15th Anniversary Bourbon Barrel Aged. What about something less rare like...

    fruit with beer? HELP!!!!

My food chemist buddy has always told me if ever adding fruit (fructose) to ale, add it in secondary, after the majority of the yeast has reached flocculation. From my understanding, Fructose is the second sugar processed by yeast. While yeast can easily process it, fructose is a larger sugar...

    Molé Stout Help! (Chili Additions)

I have brewed an 1.070 OG american stout that I want to rack onto some molé ingredients. I haven't checked yet, but by now it should be around the expected FG (1.016) and ready for secondary. I've never worked with chilies in beer before, so I sourced many other molé stout and chili beer...

    Show us your Kegerator

That's the same unit I used for my conversion (see my link in a few posts back). No coils on top. Also, the wires go directly to the right from the center thermometer/light. You can drill right through the area behind the light with no issues, it's just insulation there.

    Show us your Kegerator

Nice job! Were you able to use the stock thermostat or did you have to completely replace it? I recently did a wine/beverage cooler conversion myself: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/show-us-your-kegerator-29053/index392.html#post4487173

Advice for a brewer who doesn't drink

If this is a troll post, bravo. 10/10 If not, get off your high horse. Sorry to be so blunt. But if you're wondering what people in a local brewing community would think, all of these posts will show you. If you don't tell them why you're not sampling other brewers beers, you will come off...

    Show us your Kegerator

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/thermostat-bypass-replacement-346638/ I made that post when i first got the fridge... I was actually planning on making a build thread soon since there seems to be a lack of info on this model. I used the auberin SYL-2342 (relay output) and simply followed...

    Tap not flowing right?

it's a corny keg... took everything apart and it turned out that the o-ring on the output dip tube was not creating a seal. Luckily I had a thicker o-ring on hand. Seems to be flowing fine now! Just wish I didn't have to lose so much beer in the process, haha. Thanks guys!

    Tap not flowing right?

just swapped everything around and it's definitely isolated to that specific keg... Regardless of what beer line I hook that keg up to, beer is flowing with gaps of air in the line. I sprayed everything down with starsan and i don't see any leaks on the outside of the tubes or keg.
