    I only plan on doing the first year in totes so they can build up a good root system. I'm planing on putting them in the ground after the first season.

    Yep 1 inch thick piping to build my trellis. I will have 3 plants and container grow for the first year. I'm not sure what a stay is in regards to hop going so I couldn't tell you.

    Ok so I plan on growing my own hops for the first time this spring. I'm going to be growing 3 kinds Chinook, cascade, and Willamette. I will be starting them off in 50 gallon plastic totes with a compost soil mix. I live in southern Delaware so any advice for growing in this part of the country...

    US-05/WLP001 for sweet stout?

    I have done a few sweet stouts now and i find that s04 is really good for this type of beer.

    Favorite Yeast per style

    I brew mostly English style ales and my go to yeast is s-04. For dry yeast this is a monster. For most of my non English brews I go with WLP 001 cal ale also a monster yeast.

    pumpkins: added to boil, fermentation or both?

    I'm doing a pumpkin ale in a few weeks and I plan on mashing the pumpkin. I also plan on adding a healthy dose of spices in the last 5 min of the boil.

    coffee

    Ok so I'm getting ready to brew a stout this week and I want to do an addition of 1 half oz of coffee. Can I add the coffee to my mash or would it be better if I just cold steeped it and added it to my secondary? I have used coffe before but I have always cold steeped and added it later. Thanks...
