American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

So I'm doing two versions of this recipe. The original with just Citra and a second with a three hop blend. I'm planning on using a combination of Amarillo, Galaxy, and Nelson Sauvine. What do people think on that mix?

    Post Your Final Beer pH

II can't say these are super controlled experiments, but here is something to compare. These 4 pale ales have the same grain bill and target IBUs (using different hops. WLP001 Pale Ale: 4.31 (post-boil 5.23) Pale Ale:4.36 (post-boil 5.3) Pale Ale: 4.39 (post-boil 5.12) Pale Ale: 4.4 (post-boil...

Hazy Beer is a New Thing.

Maybe I will do the gelatin thing. This seems a process thing and I have a thing about needing to know why.

Hazy Beer is a New Thing.

I use whirlfloc with 5-10 minutes left in the boil. My beer goes into a keg that sits in a fridge at 38F. Still coming out cloudy after 5 days.

Hazy Beer is a New Thing.

The last recipe I did: Grain bill is 75% 2-row, 14% Maris Otter, 11% Crystal 20. Citra .01 oz. @ 90min, .75 @ 30min, 1.70oz whirlpool for 1 minutes, and 2oz dry hopped. 90 minute boil with no difference in mash or sparging. I use whirl floc with 10 minutes left in boil. I leave break material...

Hazy Beer is a New Thing.

Hey all, I've been having clarity issues on my last three brews, like supper cloudy. I figured a few possibilties, but not sure. Any other ideas would be helpful. Here's what I'm thinking: 1. It could be that the calcium levels are down because of all the rain in my area. I do add salt back in...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'm working on a brown ale recipe called DB Cooper's Brown. This weekend is my second attempt at it. I'm excited about changing one thing and tasting the results. I wish I would have saved a few bottles from the first batch to compare. Lesson learned.

English Porter Black Pearl Porter (AG)

Hey BM, thanks for the recipe. This will be my first non-kit brew, and am excited about it. In the original post, you say to rack it to a secondary. I was just wondering if there is any particular reason for this, or is it just like most brews that can stay in the primary?

    Charcoal From Brita Filter

Hey all, Just a quick question: Would there be any adverse effects to my beer if, when using a Brita Filter, a few grains of the charcoal got into my kettle water? I am currently brewing with extract and have been filtering some tap water to mix with spring water. Any input would be great.
