    St Louis

+1 on Schalfly. There are two locations, Tap Room (pub vibe) downtown and Bottleworks (modern brewery vibe) in Maplewood. Two of my other favorites: Urban Chestnut Brewing - Lots of neat beers to taste; haven't found a bad one yet. Food is snacky tasting type stuff, not dinner...

What Did You Get For Christmas?

I bought myself this nice shiny laptop. SWMBO gave me Portal 2 and then snuck a Pliny the Elder all grain kit under the tree. Hoppy New Year indeed!

Can A Keezer Double as a Fermentation Chamber???

Like this: I can get down to the mid-upper 50's with the fan running continuously, but I have a lot of duct and a really small fan. Put the box next to the fridge on shorter duct and you should be able to lager.

How to move brewing equipment which ain'tl light....

Ok, I've got to ask; how did you manage to get a 5 gallon brewpot that weights 700 lb? Collapsed matter dip tube? :D

To keg or not to keg

If I'd done the math on how much the kegerator was going to cost when I started gathering the bits, I probably wouldn't have done it. Which would suck because keggings is great. One advantage not mentioned yet; total control of carbonation level. Too much, purge the keg a few times. Too...

    BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse

I've got to give BJ's a shout-out. I spent over 16 weeks this year in Dallas for work. I tried every micro-brew/brewhouse place I could and actually avoided BJ's which was *2 blocks* from the hotel because it was 'corporate'. Around Week 7 or 8, I went in there on a saturday afternoon...
