    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

This is not really a mod...but close enough. After struggling a “few” times with hops (pellets) getting stuck in the tap which comes as standard with the Braumeister, I decided I had to do something about it (so tired of trying to clear the tap from stuck hops when transferring to...

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

I wont comment any more in this thread until it's about the BM. Anyone who is interested about the subject I just commented about is welcome to PM me.

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

This is exactly the reason why I try to stay away from forums. Dont you figure you will lose buffering power as you sparge? Think about how chemistry works.

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

...you don't have to adjust/acidify your sparge water since the grain has enough buffering power by itself (which is true in many cases - there are exceptions of course). What you however always should keep an eye on is the pH of the runnings (or what ever you call it – the outcoming wort :) )

Automated brewing - BeerMaker from Italy

Does anyone here have any experience with any of these units: http://www.beermaker.it/ Looks quite interesting. But I guess most people on this site are from the states and not Europe - and it would probably be quite expensive to import from Italy. But I am still curious to check if...

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

The problem is that Speidel only have protection in Germany (at least that is what I have gathered when reviewing their granted patent). Pretty much any other country can build their own Braumeister and sell it...they just can’t sell it in Germany. MyBeer in Brazil can’t however get a granted...

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

That I agree on. Have been in contact with them as well - but a bit tricky since they don't know any English. Could still be an option for our nano (pico) brewery. On the other hand - then there are shipping costs to Sweden and the fact that service of the unit will be very tricky to...

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

Quite annoying new video: Why all the flashing colours and sh*t. It's not supposed to be a music video. I want to see in detail how this thing work… At least I got some more information... (glad I don't have epilepsy)

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

The Braumeister is automated - but you mean that this system seems to be even more so? I am also concered about service. I would have to carry out any service myself.

...a bit too excited. Almost scary.

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

For us it’s not primary about automation – but consistency and repeatability. Of course we don’t mind the steps that are automated – there are plenty of doing left even with an automated brewhouse. Most of the work hours actually goes to cleaning and sanitizing. We will see what the price...

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

I could be that idiot - well, I would not pay 6500 dollar for the 60/30 liter version, but I would consider paying about double that for the 100 liter version. Watch the videos – this is NOT just a pimped up Braumeister. We are looking for 100 liter brewhouse for our nano (pico) brewery –...

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

Finally some price information. The smaller version (not sure which one, 30 or 60L) cost R$ 15.000,00 (which is about 6500 US dollar). Im curious how much the 100 litre version is.

Cervejaria My Nano Brew - Kinda like a new "Braumeister"

Found this by accident: http://www.mybeer.com.br/ Several videos on their Facebook page. Looks quite interesting - but seems to be quite similar to the Braumeister. Does anyone have any more information? /Anton

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

Interesting. I find the temperature to be 1 degree lower than the set temperature at the top. When did you get your BM? (thinking that it might be a newer version than the one I have). Do you have the 20L or the 50L version?

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

I have - unintentionally (power outage). The Continue function saved the day. But personally I rather press two buttons instead of unplugging the unit.

    Speidel Braumeister (brewmaster)

By doing this you could basically use any amount of grain weight :) What I mean is that you, for example, could do 6kg malt for 60 minutes, then another 6 kg and finally 6 kg more (18 kg!). That would be a HUGE beer. Only flaw is that it's making your brew day about 1 hour longer per 6 kg...

Selecting conicals for our nano (pico) brewery – heated and cooled

Commercial brewery in the scale of a bigger home brewery. We are only going to brew about 100 litres per batch (max. 400 litres per month). We will start with 200 litres per month though. We won't earn any money on this – we only hope not to lose too much money :)

Selecting conicals for our nano (pico) brewery – heated and cooled

Thank you for your feedback! We have considered this option since we have a separate fermentation room. The problem is that we will brew at least two different beers – and they ferment at totally different temperatures.

Selecting conicals for our nano (pico) brewery – heated and cooled

We have been putting in quite a lot of time in our search for the perfect conical for our small brewery (and doing a lot of research here on the forum). The conical we choose has to be able to ferment 27 gallons of beer. The conical has to be easy to handle and clean (therefore Blichmann is...
