    Scorching Issues

What I am thinking is I don't need a solenoid control of any kind on the burner. I might go ahead and put a probe in the BK for the heck of it. I could either imbed the burner in the stand or create a separate stand for the boil kettle. Sticking with all electric offers some simplicity...

    Scorching Issues

I am starting a new build in the 20-30 gallon range, HERMs controlled from a BCS460 (though I am thinking about the Electric Brewery panel). My concern is reading these posts about scorching elements, particularly on big beers which is what I tend to like. I could do a hybrid of some kind with...

Proper Element Height in Boil Kettle

I am looking to purchase a 20g boil kettle from Brewer's Hardware. Dimensions are 15 3/4 diameter by 25 1/14 tall. I want to put a second 1.5 inch TC fitting on that kettle (and have them do it prior to shipping). I would like to be able to continue with smaller batches if I want, but I'm...

Building an all electric system in Beijing

I know, its all made here anyway. If I were fluent in Chinese (reading and writing) things would probably be different. Even so, its almost always more expensive to buy things that are manufactured in China - in China. By a factor of 3-ish. And the quality safety issue. Things made for...

Building an all electric system in Beijing

The kettle is setup for dual elements, I was going with two of the 4500 watt Camco ULD's, The total kettle size is 113 liters. The mashtun is the same size, and I had planned on using a single 4500 watt in the RIMS tube I purchased from Brewer's Hardware.

Building an all electric system in Beijing

I am running 10/3 outdoor cable to the elements. Crap, you would think I could figure amperage. I will have to bump that switch up, but more critical is the breaker in my apartment box.

Building an all electric system in Beijing

So I have been dragging pieces over to China for about 2 years and I am in the final stages of getting my 29 gallon system up and running. The control circuit is really giving me a hard time. I thought I had it all figured out, but after looking at some diagrams over on the Electric Brewing...

Max element wattage for my RIMS tube

I am trying to figure out what is the max size element I can run in the RIMS tube setup from Brewers Hardware. I have the tube + probe for the BCS controller. http://www.brewershardware.com/Tri-Clover-RIMS-Tube.html I want to pick up 3 elements and take them over to Beijing where I brew. I...

    BCS Temp Probes

I just received their RIMS setup and I will be using the BCS controller. I am trying to understand thermowells and how to deal with the sizing as well as the connection between the probe and the controller. I've gotten 90% of my hardware from Brewers Hardware and I agree, the worksmanship is...

    Homebrew Equipment in Ireland?

I have a friend who will be in Ireland on business. Normally he is in Beijing and would like some yeast and other supplies to take back with him. Is there a good online source that can ship to his hotel within the next week?

    220 Volt Pump Options

So the March is the only option for 220V? I guess I will part with $300+ if thats what has to be done, but I was hoping for something less expensive.

    220 Volt Pump Options

There is a lot of variation in the things that you actually find, and with something food grade I would rather stick with a known product. I find other things there, but its a hodge podge.

    220 Volt Pump Options

I need to pick up at least one and maybe two pumps for an eHERMS setup in China. I leave to go back in a 3 weeks but I would like to piggyback it on a buddy's shipment. What are my choices? I found the March AC-5B-MD Beer Pump but I have to tear it down after every use. And it is a...
