    i left some of the sample out and this happened...

    I have read of some who caught wild yeast, I just am not sure I did it on the first try. I left out some of the boiled wort and this appeared after 5 days. it smells somewhat sour maybe vinegar like, but also beerlike. Toss it, or cultivate it?

    So will this work? How's the stitching look? Oh, and made me a hop sock spider thing too. Super easy. This weekend, I'm hoping to do my first 10 gallon batch with this. 23lb grain bill.

    rope tub on sale at home depot

    was at home depot the other day and saw this rope tub on sale for a little under $4. these hold a carboy very well and fermenting buckets too. maybe a few of you guys need one of these for a water bath or possibly something else...

    So, yeah, BOIL the wort, THEN can it

    I somehow missed the part where you gotta boil the sort before you can it for future use. below you see the result after just 6 days. Glad I checked it, cause it coulda got nasty..I wish I had frozen this instead of canning. Next time I will boil it tho, then can.

    Ever added threads to a thermometer

    Anyone ever tried to put some threads on a thermometer like the one attached. I have about 4 of these and figure I could mod a 1/2" bolt (drill the appropriate size hole) so I could attach (solder, glue or weld)) it to this thermometer. Is it possible?

    18 tip natural gas burner ebay first run

    Ist got this in today from eBay. 18 tip natural gas burner. Has the 1/2" inlet. Plug and play. Burns mostly clean. Any suggestions on how to maintain solid blue flame? Or does that matter at all. Full rolling boil of 6.5 gallons from 66-212 took right at 38 min. half what I was getting on...

    east TN new-brew.

    just finished the primary on a "pilsner". i bought the extract kit from a place in columbia, sc. the name that guy put on it was carolina cream, light pilsner. what type ale would this possibly be? anyway, i like all the info on this forum. very nice folks who are very helpful.

    new brewer to the east side of tennessee

    Picked up a starter kit a week ago from liquid hobby when i was in SC. grabbed a kit he had put together, pilsner light extract kit. had a nice time boiling everything up the other night, but sure was a lot of cleaning work. i've really enjoyed reading all the informative information here...
