    Wholesale Bottles

Hi, I'm in the process of opening up a store (not a homebrew store) and I need cases & cases of 375ml & 750ml wine bottles. Does anyone know a wholesaler or distributor with cheap prices? Any contacts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Favorite Regional Soda / Pop / Soda Pop

We spend a lot of time talking about regional beers, but what about soda / pop / soda pop? What are your favorite sodas? Some of mine: Sparkling Loganberry Soda (had in upstate NY) MASH - really good natural tasting sodas - small line put out by Boylans. My favorite is the Lemon...

Watch City Brewing in Waltham, MA fills your corny kegs!

I don't know how many other small breweries do this, but a friend told me that Watch City in Waltham, MA fills corny kegs. You drop it off, give them a list of a few of the beers that you would want, and the brewer will fill it when he is in. They never know his schedule, so your keg might be...

Some stuff for sale... in Boston

    1. Old 5 gal Lauter Tun. I picked this up in a lot. I've never used it. It needs a cleaning. I think that everything is there (check the pic), but I'm not sure. You will have to replace the hoses. It's yours for a couple bottles of your homebrew or a bomber*. 2. Plastic Bottling Bucket...

    Vintage Carboy Find

I just wanted to share this. I picked it up at a yard sale for $10 last weekend. I didn't really need another carboy, but I couldn't turn this one down. I have no idea how old it is. It's in great shape. Looks just like the usual glass carboys, but the bottom has a very rough pattern.

Stuff for sale in Boston, MA

I have a bunch of stuff for sale that’s been sitting around my basement for a while. I bought most of the stuff from friends when they moved from Boston over the years. I won’t ship anything. I can meet in Jamaica Plain or Waltham. Prices are marked, and are pretty fair (I think). If you...

Boston area 100 lb propane tank for a smoker build

Hi, Yeah, I know that it's not about brewing, but brewing and smoking go hand in hand! I have a 100lb propane tank (at least I think it is...): Diameter= 13" About 4 feet tall Tare Weight = 71lbs This still has some propane in it, and it has the old style propane connectors so no one will...

Massachusetts - amazingly cheap loton CL!

Not mine... Just talked to the guy, and you would have to take it all with you (including the fridge). I would jump on it, but I don't have a pick up anymore, and don't have time to rent a Uhaul this week. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/for/1672481240.html

    Lamb Jam Boston (in Cambridge)

http://www.fansoflambboston.com/lambjamboston.aspx Anyone headed to this? It's got beer, wine, & lamb! Not sure how much we are going to be able to eat & drink, but for just over $30 it seems worth checking out. And, hell, if I want more to drink and eat, Charlies is close by. Here's the...

    Ginger Lime Beer

I just wanted to post a recipe that I've been making recently. It's pretty tasty. This makes one liter. 32 oz of water 1/4 cup white sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice (about 3 limes) 1 teaspoon of ginger powder 2 inches of fresh ginger (cut into about 5 pieces) 1/4 tsp...

One Gallon all grain kits? I don't get it!

The other day, a friend told me that in some magazine he read that Brooklyn Brew Shop is selling 1 gallon all grain kits, and I'm trying to wrap my head around this since I can't see spending $15 for one gallon, and I can't imagine spending several hours on brewing while getting so little in...

Growing hops in Massachusetts in Shady areas

Hi, I live in Boston, and my garden gets way more shade than sunlight so I'm wondering which hops would be best for me to grow (or which varieties I should definitely not attempt to grow). I'm mainly interested in cascade, chinook, fuggle, target, &/or willamette, but would adapt my...

Questions about 1 gallon batches of fruit wine

I'm about to get the ingredients for my first batch of wine. I am only going to make a gallon of blueberry wine so I have a few questions about the size of my primary and secondary carboys: Is it okay to use a 7 gallon plastic bucket (food grade) for the primary and then rack into a 5 gallon...

1/6 Sanke keg off a kegerator built for corny kegs

I have a kegerator that I built for Corny kegs. I have one corny hooked up right now (porter with a hint of coriander), but I am wondering what I need to purchase besides a sanke tap to be able to serve beer from a store bought 1/6 Sanke keg. I already have a dual gauge regulator and a three...

    Sanitize gas lines/regulator?

Hi, After about 15 years of bottling, I am going to keg two batches this weekend. I have gone through the forums and I think that I only have one question left: Do you (or how often do you) clean and sanitize your regulator and gas lines? Thanks!
