Chest freezer hinge help

I have a chest freezer with the hinge inside of the freezer. see pics for better understanding. Im adding an wood extension for my taps and I can only assume that I will need to purchase different hinges....has anybody done this? If so, what worked best for you?

You definitely want to get new hinges. (Newer) Chest freezer hinges are spring loaded and can be bought and added on.
