Just wondering what I have here. Its only a milk jug about half full that i pour a small amount into from my taps (tower is not cooled so it pours a little foamy at first). Its been a busy week and I haven't been out to my garage bar until today. Its a mixture of an IIPA and pumpkin ale. Smells sour already. Am I crazy for wanting to taste this?

Well that's definitely a pellicle I say leave it for a bit longer and take a taste or a smell first. There's a lot of people here much more knowledgable than I so I'm sure someone could help you out.

With all of that headspace in the bucket and the fact that it is happening so quickly, you might just be making vinegar with Aceto bugs. Taste it and the send a mobile post from the E.T. style bio-containment tent that CDC sets up if you get sick.

Beer should be tart and tangy not acidicly vinegary.
