Combining yeasts?

Anyone ever combine yeasts to get some interesting flavors? Without a full lab setup what has worked and what hasn't?
 
I've been reading that overtime one off the yeasts will become dominant. I'm thinking of taking a Belgian yeast and combining it with San Fran lager yeast
