Maturation time

If i leave my beer in the primary for 3-4 weeks to let it mature, do i need to give it another 4 weeks after bottling before drinking?

Does the added primary time make for a shorter time after bottling or does it just mean more patience?
 
The beer will still need to create and absorb Co2 after you put it in the bottle. It's great to leave it in the primary that long but it doesn't speed up the carbonation process.
