Just finished brewing a 1gallon batch of nut brown ale (all grain). I used a whirlfloc tab at 5 minutes. Based on the pre-boil gravity, I thought I would hit about 1.050, but by the time I boiled and topped up, it was 1.060.

Can whirlfloc affect gravity? By 10 points? I'm happy about getting 80% efficiency, but this will be a strong nut brown if that number is right. Any ideas?
