Hey guys I got two hawaii honey meads I made almost a year ago. They were racked once they cleared, and have been sitting in one gallon jugs since.....I guess they are about 11 months old.

Both are clear, but have a very thin layer of sediment on the bottom, also, I wanna free up the jugs to get more batches going!~!

These are both just straight meads made with EC-118.

I will probably drink a glass of each and stash the rest away until NEXT february when I hope to get back to hawaii!!

Im wondering if grolsch bottles will be O2 proof for the long haul??

cheers!

thanks!

I bottle my mead in Grolsh bottles. I have 2 year old, sparkling mead that still have pressure. If your gaskets are good (you might want to replace them), you should be fine. My only concern with aging in Grolsh bottes is if you want to keep them for several years.

I am thinking the same thing for my apfelwine. It's been in the 'primary' for two months now.
